Go on shows like Jimmy Kimmel and others like that... Then do somethin crazy that gets u on the news (but not too bad so people won't still root for u, unless u want to be a bad guy)... Then be involved in a documentary about ur life, only don't show it on HBO or ShowTime, have it on network television...

But that's when the whole language barrier comes in. HBO had that little Life of a Fighter or whatever it was called on Gamboa. He did try to speak English there too...

(Cuban accent) I am Yuriorkis Gamboa.

      **** had me rolling.

Anyway, ima chop it with u like an actual boxing fan would. The Rios-Gamboa situation had nothing to do with Gamboa not wanting to fight Rios. At the time these so called negotiations were being made, the last thing on Gamboa's mind was Brandon Rios, for better or for worse. The whole situation with TopRank was an extension of the complete s**t job Oner & the boys over at Arena Boxing made with Gamboa's contract extensions. (exactly the type of shark company i mentioned in the posts above). Gamboa wanted out of that because that situation was incredibly mishandled...this was happening since before the Salido fight. Arena Boxing extended the co-promotion with TopRank. Yunier Dorticos, another cuban prospect who I train with and that you'll be hearing from soon, was caught in the same identical situation with the same promoters/handlers, and that's why HE hasn't fought since November of last year.

Contrary to what a lot of readers on here thought/think, Gamboa had plans of moving to 135 since before any Rios talks began. So the weight wasn't an issue. Nor was fighting Rios.

DWF, EVERYBODY knows that Gamboa was havin contract problems. Everyone knew or heard the rummblings of said dispute before there were even talks about Rios. We were just all disappointed that the fight aint matterialize, but I myself did not hold it against Gamboa cause I knew he was goin through some thangs. I wouldn't call him a hoe, for not taking the fight at that time. It was just ****ty how everyone was left in the dark about him not taking the fight, but I dont put that on Gamboa.
