Yeah - the advisor role is another aspect of it - clearly he's doing something but legally an 'advisor' has no responsibilities and cannot be held accountable - he's just some guy giving 'advice' after all. despite his clearly deep and influencial role within the business.
I'm not even saying Haymon is doing anything wrong or illegal, and perhaps it's just personal bias (I do have a prejudice against the rich and powerful, especially when the mechanism of control remains opaque). but I just find his role troublesome...when he was just 'advising' 5 or 10 fighters it was one thing, but his 'clients' now include a wide selection of titleholders, prospects, and the guys that the latter would have to go through to meet the former.
In short, Haymon is rapidly gaining the power to either make you a champion, keep you a champion or deny you the fights required for you to become a champion.
How he chooses to use this power is of course yet to be seen, but I find it hard to believe his interest is in anything other than profit - even if (and it may not, for all my scepticism) that comes at the expense of the sport as a whole and even fewer of the fights we want to see made as fans.
