  • The Garcia myth; the Khan hate; the nuthuggers on this site.

First off, before I say anything, I think Danny Garcia is a good fighter. He's done well up to this point today and probably do well in the near future at 140. With that out of the way I'll also say critiquing a boxer is often seen as a negative and jokers on this site troll posts with such frequency, honest observations are almost always taken out of context. With that being said, Danny Garcia is a simple formula to solve in the ring. I'll throw in that now that Garcia is managed by al haymon, he's going to be matched very carefully. They know Garcia is a medium range hooker and walks in straight lines and his only punch is the hook and counter hook. He eats jabs like skittles so dont expect to see this kid in with anybody that can "box" like a malinaggi, khan again or a mayweather. Now to khan. I firmly believe he let's his ego get the best of him in the ring. Why trade hooks with a hooker? Why?, when you know that is the other fighters one strength? Amir Khan is a fantastic boxer but I really don't think he grasps his weaknesses and plays on his strengths. He boxed maidana beautifully until he decided he had enough of dancing/riding his bike and then he got caught huge by maidana. Khan needs to go back to the drawing board and focus in the ring and BOX and break his opponent down instead of thinking he can brawl it out. Everytime he brawls, he gets blasted, ie Prescott, maidana, Peterson and now Garcia. I know he should have beat Peterson yada yada but he was just sitting there taking shots and was in trouble a couple of times. Let me know you guys think.

I agree completely. Garcia is a good fighter but does nothing really good. He is pretty average at anything and Khan SHOULD have made that fight easy by simply boxing him. Khan doesn't use his strengths which he needs to do. He would have lost just once if he did. Not knocking Garcia though.

Well, first off there is no Garcia "Myth" the KO was legit Khan squared up and got caught clean.

Like I said in a previous thread, Khan needs to learn to utilize his height, work behind his jab, and stop fighting at his opponents level giving his advantages away.

Well to call a fighter mediocre,is to say the least, disrespectful. He KO a top level fighter that maidena couldnt KO.I myself dont like him too much but he is a go forward fighter and everybody likes that.My question is,what have you achieved lately, something that can give you that right, any belts?..
In all honesty it makes me sick how people like you, call fighters names or swear they have the right fight plan.I boxed for a while and always crap my pants when entering the small gym ring...Congratulations to danny and unless khan changes he will lose again, but in all honesty not a lot of people like hit and run fighters,IMO.

I think the Khan hate is more just an opportunity to pick on the Wild Card fanboys and Brits. I don't think many people actually dislike Khan, they just enjoy rubbing peoples noses in it.

Because he doesn't listen to his coach.

I think he lost a lot of US fans post-Peterson.

Nobody is overrating Garcia, if anything, the majority continues to underestimate his ability and potential. So there's no myth about Garcia. Nobody thinks Garcia is some ATG or anything, he just keeps on winning, no doubt about that. Khan's biggest enemy is himself, he lacks a boxing brain and can't seem to keep calm under pressure. It's way too easy to lure him into an exchange, which shows how undisciplined he is. He has a faulty chin, leaky defense and yet he continues to rest on his quick hands to get him through a fight. He brings his arrogance into the ring with him, thinking that his speed will be enough to overcome his opponent. Instead of fighting behind a jab and picking his spots, he stayed within punching range and threw some lazy combinations, and he got caught. Garcia came into the ring prepared for Khan's ambush style, and he beat him. Khan has had the same flaws for a while now, and doesn't seem to be improving on a fight-to-fight basis like he should be.

                  my opinion

there's no rule on the forum saying you have to be a fighter first before you can post your thoughts on a fighter
