Don't generalize, I'm Mexican and I like Rigo's counter attacking style. I would rather watch Rigo than Rios. I rather watch a street fight than watch Rios. Anyways. Props to Mares for at least saying he wants to fight Rigo, eventhough Rigo has already beaten Mares in Los Panamericanos.

This kid is in BIG TROUBLE if he thinks he is going to beat Rigo with "the basics." A jab and one-two combo with get you nowhere with the likes of Rigo. I sure hope they have a legitimate game plan or it will be a short night!!

you're an exception, let's just say most mexicans are excited by Rigondeaux style, mexican usually favor action fighters.Don't generalize, I'm Mexican and I like Rigo's counter attacking style. I'd bet almost anything more people would pay to see Rios and Alvarado beat the 5hit out of each other than see Rigondeaux. hardcore boxing fans of any ethnic group will appreciate Rigondeaux but it's Gatti v Ward, Morales v Barrera that excite people. mexicans love warriors go at it, Rigo just isn't that kind of fighter.Comment

Arum has a bunch of prospects at 118-126. I wonder if he's gonna line all of them up and have them fight Rigo, that would be so unfair lol. Marroquin got the size, but he doesn't have the experience and he will surely get beat.Comment

Unless Rigo finishes him off quickly, Rigo is going to be booed. Guaranteed. I even remember Donaire getting booed in a couple Chavez Jr undercards. And he was being fairly active despite his counter punching style. I can just imagine how Rigo will be received. Obviously all Mexicans aren't the same, but the type of people who love watching Chavez Jr. certainly won't like Rigo's style.
Macklin vs Alcine is another odd pick. An Irishman vs a Canadian. But at least Macklin has that high volume brawler style that Mexicans can appreciate.Comment

Unfortunately, you're right. Many Mexican fans enjoy to watch street fights with gloves, regardless of boxing skill.you're an exception, let's just say most mexicans are excited by Rigondeaux style, mexican usually favor action fighters.

I don't see him beating Rigo at all. Rigo's style is not that exciting to watch for many but he is extremely talented and can almost do what he wants, when he wants. He just chooses to fight with that stalking, calm style. He has great speed and power too. Him and Donaire would be a great matchup. So would Moreno and Mares.Comment
