Comments Thread For: A. Garcia Rejects Khan Rematch: He's Done, He's Over

Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas - Shortly after Amir Khan's shocking fourth round TKO loss to his underdog challenger Danny Garcia, trainer Freddie Roach expressed his desire for a rematch. Khan started off well, winning the first two rounds easily before getting caught with a left hook in the third round. It was a shot that he would never recovered from. The fight was waived off by referee Kenny Bayless after Khan was knocked down for a third time in the fourth round. He rose to his feet but Bayless felt he couldn't continue. Roach said that he agreed with the stoppage.

I agree with the father about not giving Khan the rematch. Devastating KO and now he is the champion. Why should he give a rematch after that?

cause khan landed way more shots and easily could have stopped garcia earlier had he been a little more lucky? instead garcia got lucky with his wild punching and he connected. lets not act like the guy is a better boxer, because khan picked him apart in terms of pure boxing techniques. khan easily is the better boxer off the two

Lucky punch? You obviously don't know the game of boxing my friend. Danny countered him perfectly like any great boxer would do. That's when timing comes in to play. Give credit where credit is due, don't continue to hate. Danny couldn't have proven he's a better boxer in any better way. And if Kahn could've finished him of early rounds why didn't he?!? That ko must've made you delusional too lmao!! Go Philly my hometown!!

You mentioned luck a few times there, toughness and skill had a lot to do with Garcia winning

Khan needs an army to protect that chin, plus his recuperative powers and balance are poor. Ascend 2 Welter? He must be mad, bulldozing, crushing fists of granite will have him forever whistling dixie or on some buddhist nirvana sgt pepper plane. Talks too much can't fight well on his back foot either, every big shot from Garcia had him shaking like a man with a penknife inside a gunfight.

Khan should have negotiated a rematch clause, did he learn nothing from the Peterson fight?

When the fight was signed Garcia was the champion. That wasn't down to khan

Wasn't Cotto the champion when Mayweather signed to fight him? Khan's the bigger draw just like Floyd was. Ditto for the Peterson fight when Khan was champion. Poor negotiating.

don't let the flashy speed fool you. garcia was timing, countering and already landing decent shots to the body and head before the first knockdown. if anybody was getting picked apart it was khan cause that homerun hook was only a matter of time. the pitty pat 2-3's amir was throwing didn't phase garcia at all.
