I think he does have the talent just not the proper mindsetand no trainer could ever fix that. He could have got taught to utilize his talent better by a different trainer but how would that trainer make Khan have the will to constantly strive to get better.

Agreed.. Khan might be very talented, fast & athletic, but he is simply not strong enough mentally. And after this fight, his self confidence will be even more ****ed up.

The thing is Roach is a coach that's too concerned with the offensive aspect of the game, but that leaves some terrible holes in the defense of his fighters.

Guys like Khan and Linares need a trainer that helps them to get a tight defense in order to protect their chin, doing something like Wladimir K, who we know has a fairly fragile chin but has completely adapted his game to protect that weakness.

If Wlad was fighting under Roach he would've been KO'd 10 times by now. People were flaming me for calling out Roach a year ago, I knew this mess would happen. He was just piggy backing the success of Catfish and other fighters thought he was some sort of god, he isnt. He's a horrible trainer to get your technique and strategy perfected, he doesn't have any time for anyone, he forces his lower tiered fighters to jump thru hoops just to spar with him, etc etc.

I remember making topics about this and people crucifying me on how I can say Steward and Nacho are way better trainers. Like I said 1 year ago, a blind pigmy couldve done the same thing with Catfish that Roach did, infact I feel Pacq has been getting worse these last few years and Freddy isnt doing anything to help.

Name me a fighter Freddy has actually groomed from the beginning and made a superstar.

Freddy ruins fighters, he's Hollywood trainer, you dont go to Freddy to learn about the game and become the best, you go there because you wanna be seen and to make people think how cool you are.

Roach hasn't done much good at all. People saying you cant fix a weak chin...... just look at the way Khan was squared up to Garcia and the way he threw that right hand during the 1st knockdown. Terrible technique, he is so open for counters when he fights like that. He has no ring intelligence and he doesn't utilise his advantages and i think Roach deserves alot of blame for this.
He's had the guy for over 3 years and there are still many glaring flaws in his game, with or without a weak chin.

bottom line, you can't teach or train a chin to be tough, you either can take it or you can't, and sometimes you can take it until it gives out.
