Chisora is a long way from being a tomato can. He's in most credible top 10s and gave Vitali by far his most competitive fight since Vitali started his comeback. And Haye was odd-on favourite to beat Chisora so the fact he won means nothing. The style in which he won means everything but maybe that point is too subtle for you to cope with. Haye beat Chisora much more convincingly and entertainingly than Vitali did, and that's why it's a big win for Haye. Of course styles make fights, and of course Vitali would beat Haye if they ever do meet, but the style in which Haye knocked out Chisora, whom Vitali didn't ever manage to even hurt slightly in 12 reasonably competitive rounds (almost all of which Vitali won, but they were still competitive), will make for a lot of clamour for Vitali to fight Haye, and if you can't understand why then words fail me.

Great fight and it was nice to see respect shown after,Haye is the best heavyweight in Boxing outside of Vitali and Wladimir

Haye was very impressive tonight. EpixHD came up trumps too. Commentary from Raphael was a bit poop mind.

There's no doubting Haye's skill and power. Yes he stunk against Wlad, Valuev and heck even for the first three rounds of Fraudley. Right up until the point he decided to hit him...

But you simply cannot deny, no one has been able to put Chisora down, and that includes the top HW Klit... So with that in mind Yes Haye is up there in the top 3, no doubt about it. He makes HW exciting, unlike the Klits.. The Thompson fight, i could have turned off half way through.

Hopefully we see a Vitali fight, and hopefully Haye engages, cos when he does, he's very very impressive... If he does, he's the favorite to win. But i think Vitali knows that, and will probably stay away, or make everything on his terms. Like stadium, ref blah blah blah..

Based on this fight? Styles make fights and Chisora's style is simply made for Haye. You may be right, but this fight doesn't provide any evidence for it.

That said, he'll be ranked as the #2 contender in most rankings because most rankings don't take into account the fact that styles make fights.

I was actually proud of chisora taking his defeat like a real man and proud of haye for not rubbing it in a lot of things get said about both fighters but they had beef they fought it out and now its respect to both of them this is how matters should be dealt with these days you have a problem you fight it out this is in our DNA no matter how we try suppress it and the media frown upon it it is a natural human instinct i hate this the bigger man walks away bull**** people use as an excuse for being a pu ssy you run your mouth back it up weather you win or lose back it up and you will earn respect regardless

I'm sorry, I just don't see who Chisora beat to give him top 10 heavyweight credibility (maybe within a weak ass heavyweight era where only 2 fighters matter). And wasn't Vitali fighting with one arm for more than half the fight? But you forgot.

But props to you for admitting you got it wrong and for giving Haye props.

I don't think Haye has improved, by the way. Wlad-Haye II would be another stink-fest and another easy win for Wlad, IMO. Vitali-Haye would be better to watch because Vitali engages more than Wlad does - but I think Vitali would win easily and it wouldn't be anywhere near as exciting to watch as this fight was because Haye can't cope with Vitali's height.
Dave, when did I admit that I got it wrong? And if I was wrong I'd say I was wrong. And I have been wrong before. Most recently it was with Bute. I happened to think that he was a pretty decent fighter and boy was I way off. As far as Haye's is concerned, when did I ever state that he hasn't been in exciting fights? I didn't. But, whether his opponents were 8 foot tall or 4 foot short Haye's career at heavyweight has been way less then exciting and a major let down. And I would bet that even after his win today most fans would still agree with me. And if you think otherwise then that is your opinion and I am happy for you.

Yes, and Haye fought with a broken toe against Wladimir.

Rafael was awful and I usually like the guy. He dissed the referee who was doing a pretty good job IMO.

That's probably the main obstacle. It took ages for the Wlad fight to happen, and Vitali won't wait ages for a Haye fight. Damn shame.
