    CMB campionato mexicano de boxeo

They striped Pacquiao after the margarito fight so they title to Canela. They striped Martinez so they can give the title to Chavez Jr. They took the titles away from two of the top pound per pound fighters so they can give them to Mexican TV stars. Remember Tyson and Roy Jones walking with one title across his chest and one on each shoulder, The good old times

It's very bad for the sport if fighters aren't going to be allowed to unify. Any hope of having only one champion per weight class goes out the window.

The WBC is doing a good job of alienating boxing fans. Maybe they don't care but it's going to bite them in the ass eventually.

the royal sampler belt. the diamond belt. the super champion. the champion emeritus. the 4 interim champions

        who ****ing cares?

there is ONE champion in each division. it follows a lineage. to be the champ you have to beat the champ. in the event of a vacancy the two best fighters in the division have a box off to get the lineage started again

before any of these bullsh#t organizations there was one belt. what a novel concept.

you can get a WBC belt in a happy meal or cracker jack box.

these are businessmen in an industry that is virtually unregulated. they calculate things. if they feel that the flaws we see in their system hurts their bottom line they'll change. otherwise they won't change a damn thing

so long as it's making money boxing will stay the same.

Let's see what Mexican will get it now. Probably Marquez vs Morales, or one of those two.

I agree with everything you said. But titles are some fighters excuses to duck the best, and even then, if you have a title it doesn't guarantee you get the fight. I'm talking about Donaire vs Rigondeaux. The excuse for some fighters is "If he doesn't have a title, we don't want the fight". So because of this, fighters pursue titles, to attract the bigger names.

                a good point

they destroy fights as often as they make them.

these organizations do whatever they want with the belts, to pursue whatever avenues/go in whatever directions they please. it's always financially motivated.

while i dont think that nonito donaire should have dropped everything to fight rigondeaux after he beat rico flippin ramos, i do believe that if rigo keeps winning that nonito should be considered to be avoiding him if they dont fight.

belts will be one of the tools used to keep the fight from happening if arum doesn't want it to happen.

doesnt mayweather own a wbc and wba title?!
Yeah, Ortiz's 147 WBC and Cotto's 154 WBA... not really unified so i doubt they'll make him vacate (not that they would anyways).

But doesn't Garcia only has the WBC silver belt? not the real champion's belt?
I doubt Khan cares that much about that belt if he wins it...

Olesegun vs Mathysse would be a good fight for the vacant belt.
