Ring Experts favour Khan 18-1 to beat Garcia

    Mike Coppinger, ******.com/USA Today

Amir Khan UD 12 Danny Garcia: I think Amir Khan will beat Danny Garcia soundly. Garcia simply doesn't move his head and isn't technically sound. He loops his punches and is flat-footed.

An over-the-hill Erik Morales landed at will on Garcia and even mocked the Philly native. Khan is the superior athlete and is a solid combination puncher who will give Garcia fits and cruise to a wide points victory.

    Record: 7-4

    Gareth Davies, The Telegraph

Amir Khan KO 10 Danny Garcia: The danger for Amir Khan and his camp is underestimating Danny Garcia, the unbeaten 23-year old.

Khan has all the tools at his advantage: speed, movement, and indeed more experience. Garcia, nonetheless, likes a tear-up and Khan has shown that he can be drawn in.

After being drawn toe-to-toe last time out by Lamont Peterson, Khan is talking of painting the canvas this time. Seeing him in the Wild Card Gym on July 4, ten days before the bout, he has never looked better physically.

This is a great opportunity to showcase his skills and speed but also a chance to show he can think his way through the fight, and pick his punches astutely.

Carrying the WBA belt in will make a difference to him mentally. If he fights from the outside, he'll pick Garcia off. That's the plan. Khan by late stoppage around 10, or by wide points decision.

    Record: 7-4

    Norm Frauenheim, www.15rounds.com

Amir Khan UD 12 Danny Garcia: Amir Khan can exorcise frustration that has been building like steam in a pressure cooker after a controversial loss to Lamont Peterson and the subsequent cancellation of the rematch because of Peterson’s positive test for a performance enhancer.

Danny Garcia will test him with pressure and power, but his relative inexperience figures to take a toll in the later rounds. Khan’s footwork will allow him to rely on an effective jab and solid straight right from the outside in what promises to be a testing ground for a move up from junior welterweight to welter.

    Record: 10-4

    Lee Groves, ******.com

Amir Khan W 12 Danny Garcia: Amir Khan's height, hand speed and superior experience at higher levels of the sport will carry him through here. All credit to Garcia and his team for rolling the dice and taking this difficult assignment.

Who knows; the fight is taking place in one of the world's ******** capitals and Garcia may cash in. But I don't see it.

    Record: 3-3

    Robert Guerrero, five-belt, three-division titlewinner
Amir Khan SD 12 Danny Garcia: Styles make fights and I'm leaning toward Amir Khan because he'll be running all night.

If Danny Garcia can touch Khans chin then it could be short night for him because we all know Amir doesn't have the best chin. Khan runs to a split decision victory.

    Record: 8-5

    Keith Idec, The Record/BoxingScene.com

Amir Khan UD 12 Danny Garcia: Danny Garcia has shown a reliable chin against Erik Morales and Kendall Holt, but the unbeaten champion doesn't have the hand and foot speed or the skill set to out-box Amir Khan.

Garcia isn't a huge puncher, either, but if he does connect with something big Khan proved against Marcos Maidana that he has learned how to survive a rough round.

Amir Khan W 12 Danny Garcia: I like Amir Khan by decision. Simply too much speed and athleticism for Danny Garcia, who while heavy-handed is a bit stiff and mechanical.
    Record: 11-2

Josesito Lopez, recent upset winner over ex-welterweight beltholder Victor Ortiz
Danny Garcia W 12 Amir Khan: I don't really know, initially, what the outcome of that fight will be. But they're both tough fighters, when you think about it.
I was actually in Danny Garcia's training camp for his fight with Erik Morales. He's a good kid and I like his style. You what? Amir Khan, I don't know what Amir Khan has to offer.
But to me, I hate his style. I don't like his style. So, you know what? I'm going with Danny Garcia for this Saturday night.
I think that he will fight hard the whole way through. I think that if he doesn't get a knockout, then I think that Danny Garcia can definitely pull out a decision.
    Record: 0-0

Paulie Malignaggi, WBA welterweight titleholder, former IBF junior welterweight beltholder
Amir Khan UD 12 Danny Garcia: I like Amir Kahn. Experience is a big factor in this sport. Danny Garcia has shown the mettle and the character.
That has been demonstrated in the talent he has displayed to deal with Khan's skill set. But I'm going with Khan by unanimous decision.
    Record: 9-4

    Ryan Maquinana, CSNBAYAREA/BoxingScene.com

Amir Khan UD12 Danny Garcia: For Danny Garcia to win, he's going to have to apply constant pressure for 12 rounds and make Amir Khan fight on the inside.

I think he'll be able to do it in spots, but not enough to permanently sidetrack a faster fighter in Khan, who should find the same holes in Garcia's defense that Erik Morales did last time out.

    Record: 9-4

    Jack Obermayer, Fight Fax Inc.

Amir Khan KO 7 Danny Garcia: Amir Kahn is a class above for the still learning Danny Garcia, who kind of lucked out in facing an over-the-hill Morales. Kahn needs to look good - and he will.

Poor Danny is a good one, but will find that Kahn's speedy attacks will just be too much to handle. Kahn by KO in about seven.

    Record: 4-2

    Rich Marotta, Top Rank Live

Amir Khan TKO 6 over Danny Garcia: Amir Khan will overwhelm him with speed and volleys of punches. Danny Garcia will try hard but just doesn't posess the skill set necessary to beat Amir.
    Record: 1-1

    Harry Pratt, ******.com

Amir Khan KO 10 Danny Garcia: After the frustrations of the last nine months, Amir Khan must make a significant statement that he is ready to continue where he left off when rudely interrupted by the Lamont Peterson loss.

That debacle and the controversy that has raged ever since needs to be wiped away for good -- by an elite world-class display from the Bolton man. No question that beltholder Danny Garcia will be a tough opponent, as his perfect record underlines.

I just sense Khan, further motivated by lively trash-talking from Garcia's dad, has too much to lose and everything to gain. Expect him to assume control in the second half of fight and then provide an irresistible finish.

    Record: 1-0

    Chris Robinson, The Examiner.com/BoxingScene.com
Amir Khan UD 12 Danny Garcia: I like Amir Khan over Danny Garcia over 12 rounds. I feel that Amir is able to do a little bit more in the ring. But I see Garcia giving a good account of himself despite falling a bit short.

I just see Khan being able to fight at his pace and being able to stay away from most of Garcia's big shots. Garcia has a solid chin and I expect him to hang around when the going gets tough. Khan by unanimous decision.
    Record: 6-2

    Cliff Rold, BoxingScene.com

Amir Khan TKO Danny Garcia: Danny Garcia has his chances. Amir Khan is not a good inside fighter, relying on clinching and pushing instead of punching too often.

If Garcia can get close, he can land short shots and make things happen. Garcia isn’t a monster puncher but he was able to drop the aged Morales whose chin is probably still more reliable than Khan’s.

If he can rock Khan, this will be a firefight. The problem will be getting inside. Garcia doesn’t have the physical strength Lamont Peterson used (if aided) against Khan and the speed gap is palpable.

Khan will be hard to find if he stays outside and Garcia is going to eat shots coming forward. This is a good fighter versus a better one with great talent. Look for Khan to score the stop in the last third of the fight.

    Record: 9-5

Michael Rosenthal, Editor of THE RING

Amir Khan KO 8 Danny Garcia: Danny Garcia has the proverbial puncher's chance against Amir Khan, which isn't much of a chance.

Garcia has considerable power and fighting spirit but he doesn't have the refined skills it takes to give a fighter of Khan's ability a serious challenge.

Unless Garcia lands that big punch -- which is possible -- Khan, the much quicker of the two, will pick him apart and stop him in the eighth round from an accumulation of punches.

    Record: 10-2

    Joseph Santoliquito/Ring Magazine/******.com/CBS Sports
Amir Khan KO 9 Danny Garcia: I think this is going to be a great back-and-forth fight. Danny Garcia is going to push Amir Khan into areas that are uncomfortable and make it a fight.

Garcia is very capable of beating Khan, but I think the difference is experience. Khan has been in with better fighters. That could be the difference.
    Record: 4-1

John Scully, trainer of RING and WBC lightheavyweight champion Chad Dawson
Amir Khan UD 12 Danny Garcia: I've got Amir Khan on a 12 round unanimous decision over Danny Garcia.
    Record: 2-1

    Bob Velin, USA Today
Amir Khan TKO 10 over Danny Garcia: Angel Garcia gave Amir Khan plenty of bulletin board material with his vicious slurs, and Khan has been itching to get back in the ring and prove himself after the whole Lamont Peterson debacle.
Danny Garcia's Dad just gives him extra motivation. Khan has superior hand and foot speed, and Garcia, more fighter than boxer with decent power, will be able to last nine rounds or so before a fired-up Khan and Garcia's relative inexperience and speed deficit do him in.
    Record: 3-2
