I know, right? GBP definately put pride in front of proffesionalism on this one (didn't want to move the date, wanted to say F.U. to TR)... and it seems they don't give a flying **** ass either. They're relying on Canelo selling no matter if he were fighting a baby Arangatang or not. They obviously don't care about the criticism as long as they make that money. It's Saul that should care though. As I said in a post from the other day, it's these kind of fights we end up with when the fighters let the promoters run their careers. "It's up to my promoter" SHOULD mean, "It's up to my promoter to put opponents names out there, it's up to me who I choose to fight though."

I know, in a perfect world, right.

Still.... comparing Lopez to what Pac did though?!?! Seriously??? Gotta love Lopez, but he's nowhere near the fighter Pac was. Terrible, terrible comparrison.

I stopped reading right there. That's such a hilariously ****** thing to say.
Lol, I know right. They're basically helping JCC Jr. vs Martinez get buys.

I just want to point out that Oritiz was winning the fight with Josesito..and Canelo will stop him in 6....this is a gross mismatch...

I am rooting for Josesito Lopez and hopes he wins, even though i feel has has very little chance. I am not questioning if Lopez deserves a shot at making big money, I am just questioning why Golden Boy keeps matching Canelo with smaller opponents. Erislandy Lara, Austin Trout, Carlos Molina, Vanes Martisoyan, K9 Bundrage or even Alfredo Angulo all of would been acceptable opponents but they picked Lopez who only has one fight at 147. I would of mentioned Miguel Cotto but i do not think he would of accepted the fight anyway. I understand that Paul Williams Victor Ortiz and James Kirkland all fell out of the running, but to use Lopez for his namesake is proving how desperate Golden Boy is getting to help their Stars shine. Shame on you Golden Boy, for protecting your World Champion, as most are not fooled by these Antics.

Boy Schaefer need a double colon cleansing cause he's full of ****!!! He claims there's plenty examples but only refers to the same bull**** fight that wasn't even for a title against a Dela Hoya that hadn't made that weight in 7 yrs.

I'm definitely watching Maravilla vs Jr. The only thing that would be interesting in the Canelo vs Lopez fight is if Canelo gets his ass kicked for bull****in the fans. Ortiz vs Canelo was a mismatch in itself but this is ridiculous. Lopez was on his way to a UD loss and got lucky cause Ortiz was ahead on all cards.

Mock my words, GBP ducked Lara for Canelo and after Vanes beats Lara for the eliminator match making Vanes the mandatory challenger for Canelo. GBP will never give Vanes the shot because Vanes is a TopRank fighter that would easily beat Canelo!

So this guy (Lopez) ruins it all and goes and brakes Ortiz's jaw and makes him quit, but he isn't a legit opponent? Come on now. That doesn't make any sense. Lopez might be a little small as far as his actual weight but he has the frame to put on more weight and compete. He's a live opponent who is deserving of a title shot, and I am expecting this to be a good fight. Finally, I think Canelo is in a no-win situation with a lot of you hypocrites. Whoever he fights, you are going to condemn him, because you just don't like him. For the most part, Manny Pacquiao has been doing exactly what Canelo has been doing (taking easy fights where he has all the advantages) for the last 3 years and he hasn't been criticized anywhere near as much. Unfortunately, I see a worrying trend occuring in the sport with a lot of boxers looking to do things the easy way by taking on weak/disadvantaged opponents who they can look very good against while avoiding the best guys out there, so that they can look much better than they really are. We have Manny Pacquiao to thank for this situation.
There were not too many that thought Ortiz was a good fight, what we thought was that he fit the criteria for a fight against Canelo, small fighter coming from a loss...

Well people would move up & challange guys alot back then. If youre good enough then you can get it done.

What people are really saying is that they dont think he's good enough because if Floyd moved up to fight a MW right now then everyone would think it was cool. Lopez just beat a good fighter and he's tall so maybe he can pull it off. If they put on 4 good fights then Im down and I think they will
This is why promoters get away with making $h!t like this happen. Because people like YOU pay for it.
Get just one single fight like this boycotted and you would see how fast Mayweather vs Pac would be gettin made.
Why wouldn't they keep protecting Canelo when people pay and the cash keeps rolling in?
