Kathy Duva Statement on why Toney Was Dumped From Adamek Fight

Kathy Duva, Main Events CEO, "As we were not able to come to terms with Toney by the time the IBF unexpectedly ordered Tomek to participate in a four-man eliminator, we have decided to explore that option and move on."

And we were horrified when mumbling, slurring Toney threatened to go to ESPN and beat up Dan Rafael, too!

I wouldn't mind Toney scaring the crap out of him.

Hopefully they could get it on video of Dan scurrying away lookin all nervous.

They knew they blew it by choosing Toney after they got an avalanche of criticism about the fight.

It does seem like Elie Seckbach's video of Toney threatening Rafael was the last straw. As Elie egged him on, Toney should blame him, not Dan.

The IBF gave them a convenient way to correct their mistake.

This is the vid that sank his chance to fight Adamek. Elie Seckbach really goaded him into it, too. Main Events realized Toney was bad PR and not worth the trouble.

Oh okay. So now a guy who is $300,000 in debt with no medical insurance, a family to feed, a mortgage to pay, etc.-- has no way to pay his bills.

No way to pay for a Doctor. Good thinking guys!!! You really "SAVED" James Toney.

              Idiots.

comical on the one hand but damn sad on the other

tony's got to be out of his mind thinking that talking **** about beating dan rafael up is pertinent. james flippin toney has to go out of his way to make sure people know that he can beat up a 300 lb reporter? what is going through your goddamn mind when you say something like that when you're a boxing legend? not much. toney's badly deteriorated mentally and he'll pay for it down the road. it's damn sad.

and of course, while he's getting aggravated about somebody calling into question his deteriorating speech, he's slurring his words like he's drunk..

i've had the misfortune of meeting dan rafael. he's HUGE. one of the fattest professionals i've ever seen. he wouldnt fit in my car if i had to give him a ride to the airport. he wouldnt fit into a coach seat on the flight.

the TV usually adds 10 lbs... 10 lbs would mean nothing on this man. they work MAGIC at ESPN to make that guy look like anything other than the fat slob that he is.

it's a damn shame to think that he's literally got to fight at this stage in his life, but he's got to fight. a guy like bernard hopkins, who has been smart with his money, does have to fight. james toney has to fight. god that's sad. he's made millions of dollars. he was a top flight boxer in the early 90's, damnit.

all of other jobs in boxing would end in a trainwreck for him

can you imagine him trying to promote?
                  to train fighters?
"stich toney?" the world class cutman?

                  sometimes you hate this sport?

and how could they possibly ban the greatest pure troll on the site?

Exactly, he's so out of it he doesn't see he's digging his own grave here.
