Also, just watched the whole thing. I don't think yall should be paying much attention to the sparring. Do you really think that's the way Amir Khan fights? Martinez/RJJr style with his hands down like that? Like someone said he might just be messing around/experimenting with stuff. Id definitely not suggest him to keep hands down like that tho.

Khan is a tough dude. Even getting caught big in some of those exchanges, he chooses to fight fire with fire, and i think that may not be a smart thing to do. He has all the tools to just box circles around the dude, but instead he wants to go out on his shield.

Maybe Khans chin has improved after the presscot fight. He's taken some pretty mean punches from maidana, peterson, and pacman without kissing the canvas and that might add to his confidence in himself to engage those type of exchanges. Might not be smart, but i'm not gonna complain, his fight with maidana and peterson were really entertaining.

Garcia i think isnt in khans level, the dude broke a jaw i think against past prime morales.

That sparring footage is very early in his camp, Freddie Roach was not even there for that first session because he was with Pacquiao. Besides that he just goes to war I don't think he was being tactful.

There are still some bad habits though, like the falling in and pushing to get room. His main problem is he doesn't have a pet defensive move when he is under pressure, he just uses his feet to move, or gloves to block. He needs to learn a defensive move to make the other guy miss in range, not just taking the punches on his gloves. Maybe bending at his waist to the right would work for him, and then occasionally coming back with a counter right off that move.

He has so much natural ability that there is not much you can't teach him. But it does take time, we will see if Roach finds the answers. People jump on Roach too quickly, I remember Pacquiao plateaued with Roach and then slowly he became more fluid, and found another level, I am hoping the same happens with Khan

That's the thing tho. When Roach hooked up with Paquiao, Pacquiao was more limited than Khan is. All Pacquiao had was 1 punch. Stuff that you mentioned, such as the defensive move, you don't think Khan is able to perform something of that nature or able to pick it up? So you have to wonder, what IS Roach doing with Khan? Just pure offense?

One thing tho, this dude Ruben looks like he's about his business for real. He told Khan not to get wild and to work the body. It didn't look like Khan listened, altho you can tell the video of that round was cut short. I understand messing around and experimenting but if someone is telling you to do something you should do it. Cause if you get into the habit of not listening, what are you gonna do fight night when you're head is taking a beating and you're not hearing straight?

In the sparring footage khan is still pushing when the other fighter gets close.

That's not really a problem tbh. Refs hardly ever deduct points for pushing off, it was just that one hometown judge that was complete garbage.

That is true but rarely do you see a fighter abuse pushing and holding as much as Khan did in the Peterson fight. It was practically his MO and the ref had to do something about it.

If you watch the sparring footage, Khan takes big shots through out it, defence looking worse.
Agreed, he got caught with a lot wide shots he shouldn't have been caught with. I'm liking Garcia's chances more and more.

Hopefully they can make a Mayweather-Khan fight after Khan stomps Garcia out and moves to 147. Both GB fighters so there should be no problem. Should have the intensity that Hatton-Mayweather had.

Khan pretty much beats Mayweather at every aspect aside from defense.
He beats Mayweather at counter-punching? Body work? Inside fighting?
