Gestation didn't pass up nor was he denied the title shot for the IBF title. Miguel Vasquez has a mandatory defense which he is obligated to comply with.

They turned down the fight earlier last year according to his trainer/manager.

“We could have had a shot at Miguel Vasquez but from a business stand point it wasn’t in our best interest."

In all fairness, Gesta spent the first 4 years in the Phillipines and then only recently signed to a major contract. He has fought a top 100 fighter or two. But after this next fight, he needs to go to a higher level. But it is obvious the bias against him in many cases is just that, pure bias. Complaining fighters who don't move up and then complaining when they do, exposes so-called fans.

What are you basing these "rankings" off of, boxrec?
I used to be a fan of him because I thought he'd step up in his next fight or fight somebody decent, two years later he's still where he was fighting crap people and I'm just laughing at him now. He's learning nothing, they're not even trying to move him along at a decent pace, they're going to stick him in their with a world champ, he's going to get beat and they're going back to building him up fighting "top 100" fighters.
