Maybe all this delay has allowed Kirkland to test out the shoulder a little more and convinced Wolfe he is OK to go based on the new information (and the new amount of $$ of course).

The first time around, maybe 7 weeks ago by now, he was on a radio show and sounded up for the fight but wasn't convincing in his answers about his shoulder..he said he was scared to throw it full force at the time. the next day the fight was off.

In another interview, Wolfe said there was no amount of money they would take because she had a similar injury and knows it's tough to go against a top guy like that immediately...I don't know what to think now.

A lot has changed and this is a huge opportunity for the amount of money they'd be forced to offer him at this point. We'd almost be back at square one, but I think there would be 2x the excitement this time around. wishful thinking maybe

The opponent is going to be Mayorga (Miami is Mayorga's base in the US)... Most of NSB is going to b!tch and moan about the fight being made (even though Mayorga gave Cotto a good fight for 12 rounds last time out)...

NSB will continue to whine and complain about Canelo-Mayorga (and Canelo in general) up until the fight when he puts a beating on Mayorga worse than Cotto did. Alvarez-Cotto will then be announced... Criticism about his opposition will cease then predictions of Cotto knocking the kid's block off will start until Canelo demonstrates his caliber dominating Cotto...

I don't think any of those names are PPV worthy and I don't think Golden Boy would be dumb enough to risk Canelo not putting up big numbers in his first PPV headliner, especially going up against Chavez Jr. on the same date.

Its either regular showtime or they could be serious about bringing boxing back to network tv on CBS.

True, this is pretty much what happened.

Kirk injured his shoulder against Molina. GBP offered Kirk the Canelo fight thereafter. Kirk turned it down because his shoulder was still injured from the Molina fight. He said he would like to take a tuneup later in the year to get a feel for how the shoulder would be.

GBP then offered the fight to Williams and we know what happen. So what does GBP do after? Turn around and offer the fight to Kirk AGAIN after he just said no. Kirk was willing to work with them and even started training only to reinjure the shoulder the next day. Instead of completely turning down the fight, he requested 2.5 mil to fight hurt. GBP said no way and tried to get the Ortiz fight.

A month or so later, here we are again with GBP offering him the fight for a 3rd time. From my understanding, Team Kirkland said they would be ready in October/November, but only for a tuneup against a lesser opponent to test the shoulder out.

I really don't know why GBP is so adamant on making Kirk fight on the 15th when the man has clearly said unless you give me enough money to lose, I won't take the fight because I'm hurt.

My question is why wasn't GBP/Team Canelo so eager to make the fight after Kirk smashed Angulo instead of trying to fight the man 3 times hurt?

Its mayorga, well at least the press conferences will be entertaining. Canelo stops mayorga in less than 5

That's what I thought about Mayorga/Miami, he was there before his supposed mma fight with Din Thomas and before Cotto I think, but I can't believe he was really in the mix now for this fight lol.

I guess I'm not completely against it because it will probably be a fun fight, and one that progressively tests his chin - a step up from Shane's power, in other words......Mayorga will embody the haters of Canelo on NSB during the build-up. whatever **** talking his critics give him will be channeled thru him
