I was disappointed at Vanes for a while, till I realized that he fought two eliminators and was promised a shot that he didn't get in both and that was the reason why didn't fight Angulo/Kirkland. Not sure if he is being promised on paper a shot if he wins but it would seem that way. He does make some valid points, especially when it is the WBC he has to deal with.

I don't think it will happen. Vanes has been all talk for too damn long. His team and him will find a way for this fight not to happen and will blame Lara.

Vanes is a duck point blank. He wants to get a title the easy way like Canelo did instead of forging his own way like a real champion.

I don't hate on Vanes for asking for a guarantee, the WBC and fans can be idiotic, I remember Ajose olusegun been promised his turn at the title and what has happen so far? Nothing!

The WBC will make every viable contender in their rankings fight each other. As they lose ppl in Boxing Scene will say they were expose, over-rated or pampered.

All this while all these eliminators none of the winners will fight Canelo. I'll give Canelo a bye cause all the match ups has fallen off because of events they can't control.

Canelo is protected by GB, HBO and the WBC. This kid has the goods to be very good fighter but might be ruined with all this sub-par competition

I use to be Hard on Vanes but after really watching the guy a few times...Vanes has very underrated boxing Skills, sometimes I think he gets caught up with trying to be EXCITING and in return he takes unnecessary Damage but he does have Boxing Skills...unfortunately with him being with Top Rank, he may end up missing out on a Potential 154 Tournament which would really hurt him

but beating Trout 3 Times in Amateurs and also beating Berto and Bradley...that is pretty impressive...But Of Course Amateurs and Pros are totally different but Vanes is far from a "PROTECTED BUM" like some think, people should try really watching the guy before labeling him something

anyway hopefully this fight gets DONE

Why a purse bid for a non-title fight? Also, Lara got the services of Al Haymon. How a fight is going to be made when GB and TR dont work together and Haymon dont work at all with TR? I dont see this happening.

Do you see the foolish fans hating on Vanes, calling the man a duck?? He's a damn contender. The wbc champ ducks the entire division. But I guess they're ok with that.

Targeting Williams and Kirkland = ducking the entire division? Put the hate goggles down.

I don't think Vanes is ducking I truly believe he has placed on a bad deal with Angulo and a man has to look for his best interests. Plus him being a TR fighter where the most wanted champion is with GBP doesn't help the situation.

However I just think he sucks. He's not that good. I don't see what some of you see in him. What has he done for you to think he can beat Lara?

He's actually a pretty good fighter. I'd slightly favor Lara but Vanes is a live dog.
