mebbe to mexicans. but to americans, he certainly isnt, not even close. ive never seen a canelo billboard floating in times square. ive seen 3 for cotto. cotto is recognizable to most casuals, to all hardcore, including the mexicans on both sides. its not even arguable.

Over here in Cali we have billboards of canelo. It's simple demographics. Prs are flooded in nY so it makes sense

ive seen them in east l.a, the television stations show highlites of canelo and the spanish channels talk about canelo as if he were a ****ing god sometimes

and what about vegas? there too? and even with the demographics which is a big part of it, most mexican fight fans know cotto, most pr fight fans know cotto, most american fight fans know cotto. the fact is cotto has been in more marquee match ups than canelo and its not close. u get a fan base because of that. when uve been in fights like the margarito fight, and fights with the 2 biggest sellers in the sport, ppl know u. i cant believe u guys are arguing if cotto has more recognition than canelo.
