I think he can beat most of these top jr middleweights anyways. Besides, I dont think Golden Boy is ready to make the Cotto-Canelo clash. Canelo may want it but I dont think GP wants it yet.
I never heard Cotto say he was his weight drained mainly Floyd and his fans said he was weight drained against Pacquiao, I actually never heard Cotto say he was weight drained

catch-weight, paper titles are for Pacquiao. If Cotto does this, it'll be nothing but a sham to get himself into the record books.

If he doesn't plan on fighting the real 154lb fighters, then just call it a career and hang them up.

          cotto vs martinez

anybody think cotto should fight martinez? this makes more sense than jumping to 160. they're better fights at 154:

I don't see the sense for moving to 160 lbs. at this moment...154 lbs.is where the real competition is at this moment...

N'Jikam is a big middleweight with good movement but he really struggled with Avtandil Khurtsidze, a very short middleweight at 5'4. N'Jikam can't deal with the smaller guys getting under him.

I could see Cotto fighting the winner of Chavez vs Martinez, if the PPV numbers do well.

the Canelo fight might be further away then people think. since Canelo has never fought on a PPV, his negotiating power is limited because he's an unknown quanity, considering PPV.

Canelo needs 1 PPV fight before he'll be able to get the money he wants until then Cotto holds all the cards

Cotto isn't even really a JMW
he's really pushing his luck trying to go up higher
he has less speed and power every time he moves up
not good for a non defensive guy with a shaky chin
if he tries MW, Cotto gets KTFO

These are minor comments that are not even 100% confirmed.I would love for him to even fight Martinez.Ppl think that Cotto has 9 lives and stays young forever. He is in his final fights and i'm sure its always been lucrative of him to fight at 160.He's fought nothing but the best and his resume is full of well known name unlike some others who sit and cherry pick.I think 160 is a tough task for Cotto.

J agree with the majority of the posts. I being a huge cotto fan think he is pushing his limits evening at 154. He is going to have trouble with any current 154 champs( there's ton of belts out there.interim champ super champ diamond. It is rediculous. 160 he gets killed.
