you go by when they were both a side fighters to measure their drawing power.
floyd became a legitimate ppv star 17 months before manny, and has still been outsold by 1.5 million in that time frame. thats nothing to be ashamed of though

It amazes me that Bob Arum can throw a number out there and the media believe every word he says, even though he has a long history of lying and bribing.

Not manny's fault that floyd needs a long time to hype his fights and search for suitable candidates to stack his undercards.
Besides, even if you subscribe to the idea that ppv sold per fight is the right way to go about it [which it isn't], floyd's ppv per fight sales are only 100k higher than manny's, which doesn't exactly warrant a 40 million flat fee with 0 ppv. Floyd can demand, at most a 53/47 split in his favor. However, on a ppv sold per year basis, manny could demand higher than 60%.
Regardless of how you look at it, 40 million with 0 ppv is a clear, blatant duck.

Im a fan of both (been 2 mayweather/hatton mayweather/mosley and pacquiao/marquez 3 n i live in england) but tht doesnt change the fact tht the numbers indicate mayweather probably should get a bigger percentage e****ally when u consider 4 his last 2 fights he averaged 42.5million per fight and pac averaged 28million per fight.Last edited by zcm; 06-30-2012, 08:16 AM.
