As I said on an earlier thread, I think this fight would be closer than many care to admit. Sure, they're building "Canelo" up to be a superstar; but who can blame them? I don't think that necessarily makes Saul a hype job. The results of the "expert" panel don't surprise me at all. Most are either picking Erislandy or calling the fight 50-50. I think Alvarez-Lara would be a competitive, exciting fight, with Landy taking it.

People are underestimating Canelo's handspeed. It's crazy fast.

Molina has made everyone he has ever fought look bad but a highly motivated Lara is easily a 50-50 against Canelo. He has the full tool set and proved that against a very determined Williams. He blew Ronald Hearns out of the water in less than a round which took Sturm a number of rounds to do. He also stopped Brewer something Andrade couldn't do. And Molina arguably beat JCC and Alvarado and Kirkland.

I think one fight is a poor example to label a fighter like Lara, everyone mentioning the Molina's fight forget to mention that Lara didn't train and was sick for that fight, IMO if they ever fight again Molina will not finish the fight, he was hurt in the later rounds against Lara and only the poor conditioning an a body full of antibiotics prevent him from koing Molina.

Sorry man but I don't understand what you are trying to tell me, my favorite boxer was not even Cuban, Barrera is his name and long before him a Chicano name Chacon, and the all time favorite a half Mexican Duran, I don't hate nationalities, I hate injustice and gifts, not Canelo or Jr but what they represent and of course the providers, GBP, TR and the WBC.

There was no a$$ kicking in that fight, actually it was a dull fight and the best punches were connected by Lara, and again you mention the almost two years layoff but don't say $h1t about Lara's infection 3 days before the fight and the training problems do to Shields training Rigondeaux in Ireland, but lucky for you I remember that.

Lara just don't be active enough some times. That was one of his problems against Molina. I'd be interested to see how he would fight Canelo.

This would be an interesting fight. I give the edge to Canelo, but if Lara was more active and had a bit more experiance, anything goes.
