The internal bleeding and the blood coagulating is what could've killed him. Also, broke is a subjective term. It could be a fracture or a compound fracture that slices a vein or artery.

I'll ask the same question I asked in a different thread, since everyone is telling me Ortiz's career and life is in danger because of his broken jaw. If I see a post naming one fighter that had their career ended because of a broken jaw, I will stop calling Ortiz a quitter about this fight. Just one name, and I will stop.

I know plenty of names of fighters that had a broken jaw and had their careers continue just fine afterwards, I want a name of someone who had to retire.

However, since you are so adamant about calling him a quitter, what credentials do you bring to the table that gives you a right to bash a fighters heart? Have you ever boxed before? I asked this because it seems as though we have a plethora of so called tough guys, who have sit behind a pc, telling professional fighters what they should and shouldn't be able to continue on with.

Victoria makes people appreciate Cotto's redemption that much more. Pac could've brought a chainsaw into the ring Cotto was not going to quit.

And Cotto is going to pay a BIG price for it later, health-wise. Cotto has took a great deal of punishment and will definitely suffer later for it.

Even Cotto himself realizes now that he has to consider his health. You see what he said to Margarito in the face-off? That he's not willing to die in that ring.

This last fight doesn't fall into the 'quit' category. When something like a jaw break happens, the fight should be stopped immediately. By either the trainer, doctor, or fighter himself.

Wrong wrong wrong!!!! There was backlash the first time he quit. So therefore IF this was the first time he quit...he would get backlash. Broke Jaw..cut eyes swollen face...hurt hand, hurt nuts...whatever the case is...A quit is a quit and people dont pay to watch quitters. Bet on Quitters...or watch quitters fight. Its a BIGGER backlash now not just because his JAW but because its the 2ND time he QUIT!

There was backlash but people forgave it as being the actions of a young inexperienced fighter who found himself out of his comfort zone for the first time. The Floyd fight and now this, people are crazy if they think there wasnt going to be HUGE backlash.

Fighters fight through injury all the f***ing time. That's why Ortiz is getting criticized, at the level of the sport he is at and with the money he makes, fighters are constantly fighting through serious injury. If fighters quit every time they had a serious injury we would rarely see an entire fight. For f***'s sake what sport do you people think you are watching?

I don't see anything about the fighter you mentioned. Nothing at all.
