Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer indicted to BoxingScene.com that he would love to put together a certified junior welterweight war between Argentinean fighters Lucas Matthysse (31-2, 29KOs) and Marco Maidana (31-3, 28KOs) - and stage that fight in a huge venue in Argentina. I have been wanting to see a Matthysse-Maidana match for a while now. This would just be a flat out war. There's no reason it shouldn't happen at some point in the very near future. It's pretty much a guarantee for a fight of the year candidate.

I think its clear that Schaefer is saying that if Khan wins, they will not allow Khan anywhere near Lucas. I don't think Maidana/Matthysse can happen soon since Maidana can't make 140 anymore.
