u cant hate on a guy for calling it quits with a broken jaw. He can continue, but at the end of the day nobody on boxingscene is gonna put food in his mouth.

But at the same time, he knew what was on the line. If he toughed it out for 3 more rds. the fight with canelo could have been delayed so he can recover. But it's his life. He gave up his shot @ canelo, how many more big fights should he get?

ortiz made the right decision. fighting with a broken jaw can cause permanent jaw problems and brain damage.he is a fighter and none of you hating cowards are. start respecting this deadly sport and surely start respecting these fighters.

I'm a fan of Garcia, but I recall him admitting that he told Robert that he wanted to quit in his fight against Remillard, due to stomach cramps. If he was ready to quit over bad pizza against a soft opponent, I dunno how he can question Ortiz's unwillingness to continue with a broken in a tough fight in which he was absorbing punishment.
