I don't think we should trust Victor Ortiz's integrity after the Floyd Mayweather fight considering what he did in that fight and said afterwards, changing his story several times. The guy is just mentally weak and I wouldn't be suprised if his jaw was absolutley fine and he just quit out of pure frustration at getting hurt. Several boxers have fought with broken jaws and made it through 12 rounds. I'm not stating that he was wrong to quit if he did have a broken jaw but when Bernard Hopkins opted out of his first fight with Chad Dawson citing an injured shoulder, lots of people condemned him, refused to believe him and called him a quitter, based on his past. I don't see why it should be any different for Victor "Headbutt you in excess of 10 times and then act like i'm the victim" Ortiz.

It's easy to do when you're not in that situation. We don't even know the extent of the break yet.

I don't understand the criticism anyway. If his jaw is broken and he can't continue why is that an issue? It's not like he didn't fight hard an just laid down.
OMG! STFU already...yes yes we know you are internet tuff guy and everyone is an internet tuff guy. go back to ur moms basement. sheesh. Comment on the fight already and STFU.

I would not use the word coward to really describe anyone who gets in the ring. I have said before many times in the past though that Ortiz is a mentally weak fighter. He is not alone, Tyson was, Judah and Khan are. He is a talented kid, and he is strong and fast, a lot of potential. His problem was never physical, it was mental. In the Berto fight that was Ortiz at his best, he was possessed, driven beyond belief to prove people wrong. If he could fight that way all the time he would be a force to be reckoned with. Unfortunately, he gets frustrated when he cannot do anything with the opponent in front of him. With Chino, no matter how many times he knocked him down, he kept getting up. With Floyd, he was so technically outclassed he was lost as to what to do. With Lopez, no matter how hard or how many times he hit him, he kept coming after him. Malignaggi fought until the end with a broken orbital bone, Abraham fought until the end with a broken jaw, BHop fought until the end with a dislocated shoulder, Gatti fought through wounds and agony beyond belief. Heart and will are the intangibles some just do not possess. The fight game is more mental than physical and some fighters with great physical tools, just don't have the mental fortitude. Ortiz is just one of those guys.

Ortiz should have used the Chavez Jr gameplan he was so much more physically stronger than Lopez he should have fought more aggressively bullying him to the ropes breaking him down to the body instead of trying to box dancing around the ring getting caught with unnecessary punches leading to a broken jaw smh

I was getting ready to make fun of him but then I realized, if he really does have a broken jaw then to me this is a REAL reason to quit. I know other fighters have fought through it but no one said that was wise or an easy thing to do.

On a side note though, I think Canelo would have destroyed Ortiz. Oh well so much for that fight. At least Golden Boy and Top Rank aren't going head to head on Sept. 15th anymore!

if what goes around comes around then i feel bad for floyd, 3 counts of domestic violence and raising his children in a violent environment where his kids watch him rough up their mother..
Lol well that's on Floyd man. I'm a PAC fan for life, I just tell it how I see it

I'm gonna still watch vic & root for him, because he is exciting to watch win, lose or draw....
