It looked like to me he did quit, but was held back in his corner when he wanted to walk into the middle of the ring to congratulate Lopez, like fighters often do when they cant continue. He wasnt angry at al imo.

He clearly says to the ref his jaw is broke, and when the ref asked him if wanted to continue, he said, "my jaw is broke!", like he couldnt continue weather he wanted to or not.

I personally dont think its fair to call him a quitter. I dont think he could have continued, if the doctort had examined him at that stage would have told the ref its a tko. But the doctor wasnt called.
He fought a good fight but was beaten by the better man.

He did quit. His corner didn't say a word, it was Ortiz who told the ref "I have a broken jaw" then the ref asked if he was stopping the fight and he said yea. Ortiz corner did not say a word, they were attending Ortiz while Ortiz spoke to the ref. Therefore, Ortiz was the one who quit.

It was that big right uppercut that Lopez landed mid way through the seventh that broke Victoria's jaw. At the end of the round, once on the stool, you see him pull Garcia close to him to whisper something in his ear. Then you hear (if you speak spanish) that Garcia says 'you gotta suck it up Victor. you gotta suck it up" while the dude on his right pressing the icepack on his jaw.

So Victoria was lying when he said he got his jaw broke at the beginning of the 9th.

i think he broke hhis jaw in the 7th round. ortiz tried to fight on but didn't want it anymore. look at the shots he takes in round 7. keep an eye on his jaw! you can see it wiggle out of there.
