It sucks because Matthysse should be an undefeated fighter. He looked great last night and he can rule the JWW division in my eyes. He is one heavy handed dude man. I would love to see him blast Khan out lol.

A robbery decision? Because that's the only type of decision Soto could have gotten. Matthysse broke him down and would have beaten him badly for the remainder of the fight if there was no KO.Comment

That plus he is already on decline, he has been struggling a lot even with b level fighters. Sometimes I could tell he was fed up of boxing. Last night he just quitted imo.calling Soto a fraud is like calling someone like Marquez a poosy. Soto is one of the most avoided fighters of this era, he's always been calling out the big names aint nobody wanna fight him cuz he's one of them high risk-low reward type of fights. Hell, he moved up to fight Mathysse in hopes of landing some big fight afterwards, and although it was a great show I think he made a poor decision in doing so.Last edited by Phantomas; 06-24-2012, 03:51 PM.Comment

At the end it was the stronger and bigger fighter who was the victor. Don't forget that Mathysse has been the boxer consolidated for long time in the 140 #s besides Lucas has big power while Soto new arrival to this division and normally a fighter who started 3-4 divisions below doesn't carry al the power as he moves up (if Mathysse would end fighting as a Middleweight no many would expect him to be as successful as he is in the current division). I think Soto made a mistake exchanging with Lucas while his best chance could have been to outbox the argentinian but I don't blame Soto for trying. It was a good fight while it lasted.Comment

That pretty much sums up the whole fight. Soto had average power to begin with, moving up in weight class and going toe-to-toe against one of the hardest punchers in the division cost him. After being slowed down by vicious body shots, the corner(not Soto) had no choice but to stop the fight. Soto is no quitter or fraud.Comment

Soto has seen better days. Out of his weight class and depth by the look of it.
Good fighter, I thought he may be able to outbox Matthysse for 10 rounds like Judaha and Alexander but he chose to trade far too early and when youre moving up facing a puncher thats suicidal tactics.Comment
