If he comes in shape, trained hard, and fully focused not too many fighters in his division should have a chance. But he's gotten older, out of shape too many times, and I don't think he has the dedication to make it to the level he should've easily made it too when he was younger. I'll have to see him fight some top level contenders at 140lbs. before I can assess how he'd do against the top guys there. I think he'd clown Rios though but I don't consider Rios one of the better 140lbers. I put Joan and Zab in the same class of fighters... what could've been.

That's not a fair comparison....at all. One had at least a dozen world title fights, and never had a problem getting a fight signed with the biggest names in the sport (even though he always failed miserably in those fights), and the other can't even get one top tier fighter to throw him a bone.

It's a very fair comparison to me... WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN. I think they both should've been a lot more than what they are now. If they both came in top shape, dedicated, and full of heart every fight they would be a force to be reckoned with to any fighter in their weight class. It's sad that lesser talented fighters put their all into it but fighters like them slack when the lesser talented guys would kill for their natural talents.
