Im not saying he will win, but i do think it is ridiculous to count out cotto. The dude has very underrated boxing skills. He would need to take a similar approach that he did against margarito II, moving and pivoting, let chavez wear himself down. You can say chavez doesnt tire, but i dont believe it. Not saying he does tire, but it is seriosuly in question, considering how much he drains his body down, hes a freakin skeleton walking out to the scale. Just because he rehydrates on water and poop, doesnt mean he has stamina for days.

Cotto is 5/7 Jr is 6/1. There won't be a catchweight because Jr cannot do it. I'm a Cotto fan bro, but I'm also a realist. I can give chavez being bigger and having more power, but lets not get ahead of ourselves and say the chavez has better stamina, that remains unproven as far as im concerned. Cotto has a great boxing skillset, a great jab (which chavez has shown difficulty against, and decent pop on his punches.

Cotto has no power he would be heavily outmatched and would be stopped . He couldn't hurt Manny and Manny hurt him, a 165lbs man who punches well and can only get better would hurt Cotto brutally. Cotto needs to retire or be matched against boxer who can't out power him. Why take more punishment he's done well with earnings just retire and hopefully he's safe from health issues latter in life. He is a nice young man who comes to fight and not cheat the fans. Easy to rout for this type of young man. Retire! Ray.

What about stamina?? There is no way Cotto has compatible stamina. He always slows down in fights. Hell, he did it against Floyd. Cotto does have great skills. But he's still too small & still cannot handle pressure. Chavez steamrolls him at 160 & I don't expect Chavez to do any catchweights whatsoever.

In anycase, i doubt cotto will want to fight chavez after sergio taps that.
