The "robbery" is no where near what they made it out to be. That 7th round thing on fight game proved compubox is a complete joke. It's just 2 ******s hitting buttons anyway. Bradley won that round.
In a HBO poll of boxing writers and experts only 12% said Pacquiao beat Marquez. Compubox doesn't mean ****.
You left out the fact that in that same poll only 46% said that Marquez beat Pacquiao. A large 42% said it was a draw. That means 54% did not think Marquez won the fight. It was a close fight and not a robbery in my opinion and the opinion of lots of these experts. Lots of guys {not you} that say Compubox doesn't mean **** will use it if the numbers support a win for the fighter they like. At least Compubox is neutral and not on anyone's payroll. They may make mistakes but they have no reason to lie. Some fans are so devoted to their favorite fighter that they will say he won if he is standing up at the end of the fight. Other fans hate a fighter so much that they will always say he lost the fight.
Watching last week, I was pretty much in line with everyone else feeling the fight was an outright robbery. But after watching again last night, I have kinda softened my stance. Last night, I purposely gave Bradley all the close rounds because I felt there wouldn't be many. But in doing that, I ended up with an 8-4 score for Storm. Which in my mind means that had I scored it "fairly" it would have been a drawish type fight. And in drawish type fights, a 7-5 decision either way is fine. What struck me the most last night is that the HBO crew, and myself, gave Pac too much credit for landing the "harder" shots. The reality is, he never hurt Bradley. And in exchanges, Bradley most of the time was giving as good as he was getting. I think the HBO crew and many others, including myself, assumed that since Pac was the harder puncher, his blows were have more effect on Bradley than Bradley"s on him. The truth is, neither guy othered by the other's punches. And another thing that got ignored is that when Pac would throw his flurries, he was missing a heckuva lot more than he was landing. All in all, the fight was a lot closer than I thought and I now have no issues with the decision and look forward to the rematch.
