pretty sure thats a common practice for the commission to weigh the gloves to make sure they're the weight they're supposed to be. if nobody weighed gloves then everyone would just come to the ring in 8 oz gloves, or less, regardless of the weightclass they're fighting in.Comment

all they want to do is make sure the gloves weigh the same so you don't have someone trying to have an advantage by wearing lighter gloves. what really turned me off is when the texas commission sports inspector himself said they weren't going to bother to inspect his gloves.. wtf is that?.....no wonder chavez jr is fighting in texas..they gave him a pass in his last fight for not giving a drug test, and now they aren't going to bother to quickly weigh his gloves.Comment
