What happened to great announcers who just called the action?

The problem with the Bradley-Pac fight was that Lamps only "called" the action when Manny was landing punches. When Bradley was landing, Lamps said nothing or talked about some other irrelevant crap.

In the future, to enjoy the fight more, turn off the sound. Your drunk, loud-mouth brother-in-law will always sound better than those guys on HBO.

I rarely catch the commentary, just occasional snippets. Too much crowd noise, and anyway I'm concentrating on the fight. I hear the analytical chat after the fight or between rds.

Too much Bradley defensiveness going on here on BoxingScene all of a sudden. And mostly nonsense, like the Bradley team guy who was talking about the "700 bones" in Bradley's foot. Must have special feet, because every normal person has a max of around 50 bones, including counting toe segments. He probably was muddily thinking of the 7 major bones, and exaggerated, just like this site's professional liars.

The problem with HBO is #1), the lederman card, which doesn't allow people that aren't judges, to score the fight for themselves, it affects people's judgement, and #2) announcers who don't call a fight, they just state their opinions, bicker and complain when the fight isn't what they consider a good fight. In no other sport are commentators nearly as opinionated as they are in boxing, particularly HBO. Im not saying that Bradley won that fight, but in general, they are too influential to the people watching the fight. You don't see baseball commentators calling balls and strikes, or basketball commentators calling fouls!

Omg this is some sad stuff .. Are ya people serious with the commentators?? Umm maybe all the announcers were just calling it like it is , was there anything that Bradley did that the commentators should talk about? From what I and the rest of the world saw , PAC landed everything that mattered ... So please stop with this poor poor excuse about the analyst being biased , they called it like it is , and it's exactly what I saw ... Tim lost badly there's was nothing about Bradleys game to get excited about if you are commentating .. Smh

                It's the same logic.
What damage? You make it seem like he gave out a beating like he did to Marg or Cotto. Bradley was working with a messed up foot too! You would expect someone with as much supposed power and supposedly the #1 P4P best fighter in the world to be able to capitalize on that.

The fact is Pac looked like a crude, sloppy, off-balanced slugger. That style was not impressive to me at all and apparently the judges as well.

I tell you what, if Kendall Holt had Bradley on 1 foot Bradley would have went to sleep.

It was close but I say Timmy eeked it out with grit, determination and skill.

Pac vs Holt winner gets Bradley.

As is usually the case, Larry "Vodka Breath" Merchant couldn't be more wrong. Timothy Bradley isn't getting the credit that he deserves. He put up a much better fight than at least 70% of the boxing media expected he would and would have you believe that he did, and he was injured too. In my opinion his performance against Pacquiao was much better than Pacquiao's performance against Marquez in the 3rd fight. Yet people are saying ridiculous things like "He should give the belt back". Did Manny give the belt to JMM after their fight? No. So why should Bradley give him the belt back? That wouldn't make any sense. People are just upset because Manny "I let other people make my decisions for me" Pacquiao got into another close fight with another opponent who isn't even close to being as good as Floyd Mayweather. Let's put the hype and extreme bias that follows Manny to one side and be honest. He's won and drawn a lot of fights that he should have lost so nobody should be feeling sorry for him. What goes around comes around. He could easily have 6 or 7 losses right now.

Bradley knows he lost, even after he watched the tape of his fight with Pacquiao. He probably gave himself credit for the rounds were he was close to winning and felt that was a victory in itself. It's sad that he doesn't realize the entire boxing community knows he lost but he will continue to pretend he won. he knows this "gift" of a decision is the only way he will make another multimillion dollar payday.
