wow, hating on Mares for calling out pound for pound beast donaire?? bunch of jokes, seriously. Yeah, I get that Rigo is a beast and we'd love to see that fight as well, but, c'mon now, Rigo was the FIRST of FOUR fights on PPV last weekend. that really shows his popularity at this point and time. Like someone mentioned, only hardcore fans really know of him right now. He needs to be broadcasted more for the masses to get any interest in the fight.

Donaire, on the other hand, has a huge filipino backing. He's constantly on TV, and he's top five Pound for Pound (according to ring)... i think that victory would do way more for Mares career than a victory over Rigo (not saying he wins against each, but if he did it would boost his stock up way more.)

on top of that, mares has fought Perez, Vic and Agbeko as his come out fights - I doubt he would duck anyone) people have been looking for that mares-donaire fight longer than rigo. Plus it's another Mex-Philippines clash.

I agree that claiming Mares is ducking Rigo is ridiculous. But if we've learned anything from the dude on ur sig, is that public "interest" and "skill level" don't always necessarily coincide....

I think the pro-Rigo crowd needs to tone it down a little. Mares is under GBP, and you know what that means. Mares has fought a number of top guys at BW, give him a break. However, if he campaigns at SBW for a year or two and he flat out ignores Rigo, then complain all you want lol.

I totally understand people ranting about mares not even mentioning rigo's name when asked who he may fight next and I'm not surprised that those whines are coming from rigo's fans but then Mares is saying he wants nonito as co main event of pac-jmm 4. That's simply a great career move although I doubt it would be easy to arrange because of their almost forever opposing promoters.
