Yes and no. Think about how low you feel when you have been stuck in your home alone (for whatever reason). Now imagine being in a tiny cell for 23 hours a day minimal human communication.

People are talking about how things are in third world countries but what they don't realise third world countries actually have some of the highest measurement of happiness (for example ****ladesh). Social interaction is vital.
