Perez often looks like a Southpaw Tyson in there, obviously probably not as good as Tyson, but style wise to me he looks similar.

If Price can be hurt, which I've heard some people say, and if the Perez can overcome the huge size difference, this could be interesting.

What's funny is that Haye-Chisora and Price-Perez are the two HW fights I'm looking the most forward to now.

      http://www.************.com/2012/06/...cia-undercard/

By Sean McDaniel: An interesting bout between unbeaten British heavyweight champion David Price (13-0, 11 KO’s) and former Cuban amateur star Mike Perez (18-0, 12 KO’s) is being talked about for July 14th on the undercard of the Amir Khan vs. Danny Garcia WBC light welterweight title fight at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Price, 6’8”, a former 2008 Olympic super heavyweight bronze medalist for Britain, is thought by some boxing fans as a potential future heavyweight champion in the pro ranks. He’s not faced any real live opponents as of yet, and the 26-year-old Perez would be a fairly big step up in competition for the lanky Price. Perez can punch and he puts his shots together real well. This could be a dangerous fight for Price if he does indeed take the fight.

Perez, 6’0”, hasn’t done a whole lot since turning pro in 2008. He did, however, capture the Prizefighter International heavyweight tournament in May of last year with wins over Kertson Manswell, Gregory Tony, and Tye Fields. But beating the likes of those types of heavyweights and then trying to do the same thing with the hard hitting Price is a whole different thing altogether.
Price recently defeated Sam Sexton by an impressive 4th round TKO last month. In other significant bouts in Price’s short three year pro career, he’s beaten John McDermott, Tom Dallas, Rafael Butler and Osborne Machimana all by knockout.
Price has been knocking out everyone early lately, and it’s going to be interesting what happens when he finally faces someone that is good enough to either take his power or elude his big shots. Price has a questionable chin, as he’s been stopped by big punchers in the amateur ranks who were able to score victories when they were able to hit him with hard shots.

A bout between Price and Perez would be huge for both fighters, as the winner of that bout would likely see himself get pushed up into the top 15 in the world rankings.

Looking forward to this! Also, hats off to Khan Promotions for getting this together. Price said after his fight with Sam Sexton that he'd like to fight in America, especially on the undercard of Khan's next fight.

Asif Vali heard about it and said he'd speak to Golden Boy and try to sort something out. Nice to see him come through on it, helping another British boxer get Stateside exposure. Good stuff

Mike Perez likes to do body work and some good at that so Price SHOULD be there to be hit.

This fight is great news! Both Price and Perez need to be tested, and this fight is a test for both men. I'm hoping Mike can pull this one out, but I have to give David the edge. Either way, it should be good.

What's with all these good heavyweight prospects stepping up their competition? I love it. Hopefully Mitchell-Banks will be rescheduled soon.

I'm a big fan of Price aswell. I think he has exceptional potential.

I'm just waiting to see how he does when he steps up. So far, he's one what's he's had to do and dominated the level he's at.

I hope he can take a good punch because if he can, I think he's heading for big things.

Really looking forward to this Perez fight.

What an excellent surprise. Is this on the Haye-Chisora bill?

Think it's on the Amir Khan-Danny Garica undercard.

I know Price was told by Khan that he will be on his next undercard if he wishes.
