  • Even if Compubox was a PERFECT system, it is still 1/4th of the judging criteria.

If Compubox was ran by a super computer with A.I that couldn't be bought, and had multiple hd 1000fps cameras around the ring that could detect every punch landed/evaded and even had FACIAL recognition software to detect if a fighter wince's in pain after being hit, it is still 1/4th of the **** that should be considered when judging a round

You judge who won a round based off of
    Clean punching
    Effective Aggressiveness
    Defense
    Ring Generalship

A perfect Compubox can only count Clean Punching. It does not tally up how many punches were slipped, you cannot put Ring Generalship in a hit/landed percentage, and Effective Aggressiveness is a very subjective term. The definition is moving forward effectively, but does that mean fighters who move backwards( Muhammad Ali) always lose in the category. I have always thought of it as just being effective regardless of what your game plan is.

My point is enough with these ****** Compubox threads, you do NOT judge a round by who landed more punches. SD12

Anyone who genuinely believes that Compubox should replace Judges has to be mentally handicapped.

That's the only logical reasoning I can think of.

If CompuBox was entirely correct, it would tell most the story. At the end of the day, the guy landing the most punches should usually win the round. It's only when guys land a similar amount of punches that other criteria comes into play for me. Like with many of the close rounds in Pacquiao-Bradley, Pacquiao's punches hitting cleaner and harder mean a lot more than Bradley's punches.

I didn't even read that thread, the concept was so ridiculous I couldn't get past the title.

I'm not saying you're wrong because I do agree with you, but it would show defense. Punches slipped would fall under punches thrown but not landed. I think at the end of the day judging it pretty subjective. If one guy lands 20 feather fisted punches does he win a round when the other guy landed one bomb that almost took the other guy out?
