Everybody calm down Rigo's fan base is comin ya'll. I think everybody is expecting so much so soon because of his Am pedigree. Be mindful that they are moving him at a fast pace as is because of his Am pedigree. He is on schedule and has already been on a couple of PPV undercards after bein on FNF 2 years ago. I mean he wasnt on HBO/SHO undercards barely at all if I recall correctly. Expect him to headline those TR PPV cards in the next year or two.

Rigo is a counterpuncher in a brawler's body, not to mention a southpaw. That puts him at two distinct disadvantages;
1. big name fighters are not gonna want to go up against him because that is just a nightmare for anybody stylistically. As an opponent, you want to believe that u can overwhelm a counterpuncher by forcing a fight on the inside. That's easier said than done with a counterpuncher that has the Knockout power Rigo has.
2. It doesn't make for a very interesting package to the casual boxing observer. People like to see big punchers fight like big punchers. If you can get a guy out of there, you need to get a guy out of there. and people are gonna expect you to do that time and time again.
I think Rigo did what he needed to do in this fight. He was aggressive, showed his hand speed, showed his power, and landed that left at will. He just needs to do this against better opposition.

Rigo is a great,explosive fighter and all but c'mon you won't build a fan base throwing only a straight left and a left uppercut.

The haters are going to hate no matter what, 10 fights 8 KO, WBA belt won from a champion and regardless of what you think of Ramos a least he fought GR, unlike Canelo and Chavez that has been running from the real treats in their divisions, Rigondeaux doesn't need to do $h1t, the elite of the division have to stop making excuses and fight him, it is clear that he is one of the best at 122...

The funny part is he throws his left so much but I hope you guys know he's really right handed. Just like my other idol Mario kindelan. Two converted southpaws. Rigos right is not necessarily weak from most viewers perspective its just that he use his left to setup his right hook but still ends the combo with his left because that's the punch that will go in. I've met rigondeaux twice now in Hialeah when visiting family. Its funny though because in his interviews he always says he's a true southpaw. That's not true though.

There are only about 1.5 million Cubans living in the United States. Secondly, many Cuban fighters are still adjusting their style to the professional ranks. Todays fight fans demand more excitement than ever.
If you have an electrifying fighter who brings constant action and knocks everyone out (a la vintage Mike Tyson), no one will care where he's from. He'll gain fans from all walks of life. For this reason I've always thought Yuriorkis Gamboa, out of all current Cuban fighters, has the best chance of becoming a superstar.
