    Weight Of Heavy Bag

Hey ya'll. I'm a 15 year old freshman, and I'm looking at some heavy bags. I want to get a heavy bag and some gloves, but I know virtually nothing about this. Two main things I want to know are: how heavy of a bag should I get? I'm about 5'10", weigh about 150 pounds, and can benchpress 145 pounds, hope that helps; and what kind of gloves to get. laced or hook-and-loop? training gloves or bag gloves?

    Any other help/tips are appreciated

70lb Ringside bag will be fine for you. Definitely get Hook and Loop bag gloves. You don't always have someone there to lace them up for you! I like G&S and Ringside gloves.

Don't feel bad, I read that Will Smith was only benching 150 lbs at 180 lbs. bodyweight before he started weight training for Ali.

Let me add something. I WILL be hanging this bag outdoors, so it needs to be tough.

Nevermind about that, I've found enough room in my bedroom to hang it.

Do yourself a favor and spend the extra buck or two for a 100pounder.

70 will swing way too much, I realize your 15, but you are planning on getting stronger and hitting harder aren't you.

With gloves, i suggest any sort of MMA type glove or bag glove with wraps underneath.

And always remember to hit hard.

Now might be a good time to start strengthening your wrists and fore arms.

Otherwise your first time on the bag may be a painfull one.
