Was my favorite boxer when I was growing up. Glad he has decided to step out now.

Good to hear, though the damage has probably already been done. The beating Alvarez gave him was the sort of prolonged concussive sort that leads to long term mental deterioration. And it wasn't the first.

I wish Shane the best, regardless. Wonderful fighter and seemed like a right nice bloke to boot.

i'm not a huge fan of his (but i enjoyed his career) so it would be better for someone else to make the thread
