Umm no. That means they by pass trout and pick someone easier. Canelo has been carefully matched...tonights fight not looking spectacular probably did trout a favor and got him closer to getting canelo next.

I cut trout some slack here...his lead in fight was against c-grade slugger frank loporto. Hardly a good prep to get you peaking on showtime. And delvin didnt bring the fight like most expected. The fact delvin shut down and fought cautious is a credit to trouts trickiness and skill. It s just one of those tactical battles...some fights go like that and "looking good for the fans" has to take a back seat to winning the best way you can.
**** that, His Showtime Debut to wow the world and both guys put us to sleep

If he would have made a statement he definitely wouldn't have gotten the Canelo shot.

Go and look at Trout vs. Rodriguez threads and people talked about how Austin would get blown out by Delvin, Austin never fought anyone like Delvin, Delvin is his toughest opponent to date, he is going to loose his belt to Delvin....then Trout beats him with a good spread on the cards, so now it is "but he is boring".

Beating people that others say he could not beat = skills

          Skills does not = excitement.

6'2 Southpaw David "Destroyer" Lopez is better than Delvin Rodriguez, that was the toughest opponent for Trout and he beat him in Mexico and convincingly, Lopez couldn't do anything to Trout in the entire fight.

Also Trout shut down and tool with Canelo's brother in his hometown something Nobuhiro Ishida couldn't do it

Styles make fights, a fight between two counter-punchers is not supposed to look good. Trout is more deserving than Kirkland who got schooled by Molina in an even worse fight. Do I wanna see it? No I'd rather see Canelo/Lara and Trout/Rosado.
