I really really hate lazy jabs. Throwing them with some conviction could have made the difference between a boring and entertaining fight.

Trout did enough to prove he's definitely a top guy in the division though.

he is, easily. there are about 4 or 5 guys who u can argue might be better and its a pretty deep division.

This fight sent me to sleep. Literally.

It's not as damning as it would be for someone based in America; it was 4am-ish at the time over here (England) but damn, I'd been looking forward to this card, I had planned my day around it (including a strategically timed nap) and then I miss the rest of the card.

Trout's 22% connect rate was unimpressive. This fight was very boring. No wonder nobody wanted to put Trout on TV. This guy has some boxing skill but Canelo will be too much for him. I really don't care to see Trout again after this fight much less on PPV. Trout talked all this noise about how avoided he was & then he goes & puts America to sleep when he finally gets on TV. Rodriguez was supposedly going to make him look good. If his power is the reason Delvin wasn't taking chances then he should have picked the pace up & got Devlin out of there & made a statement. Trout is out IMO.

Lol, so if trout looked awesome, he gets the canelo fight???

Umm no. That means they by pass trout and pick someone easier. Canelo has been carefully matched...tonights fight not looking spectacular probably did trout a favor and got him closer to getting canelo next.

I cut trout some slack here...his lead in fight was against c-grade slugger frank loporto. Hardly a good prep to get you peaking on showtime. And delvin didnt bring the fight like most expected. The fact delvin shut down and fought cautious is a credit to trouts trickiness and skill. It s just one of those tactical battles...some fights go like that and "looking good for the fans" has to take a back seat to winning the best way you can.

He beats both Canelo & Cotto.

worst tvsd bout of the night..boring( I can't c how judge Rochin gave Trout every round, what was he looking @???).. & Trout showed me NOTHING where he could beat Canelo, & based on this he doesn't deserve it, but based on this Canelo's peeps probably want him.. has just enough where Alvarez won't ko him...terrible bout for tv...

You contradict yourself right out the gate. Not being exciting has nothing to do with not having or having skills. Before Austin fought David Lopez people said, Oooo, David Lopez will kick this guy's ass...then Trout won. Go and look at Trout vs. Rodriguez threads and people talked about how Austin would get blown out by Delvin, Austin never fought anyone like Delvin, Delvin is his toughest opponent to date, he is going to loose his belt to Delvin....then Trout beats him with a good spread on the cards, so now it is "but he is boring".

Beating people that others say he could not beat = skills

                      Skills does not = excitement.
