People tend to forget what a superb boxer Erik Morales was in his prime. New fans think of Morales and 9 out of 10 of them remember him for either the Barrera or Pacquiao fights : None of which were exactly what I would call a showcase of his exquisite boxing abilities. Apart from being such a splendid boxer though, Morales was also a hell of a brawler.

I'd favor Mayweather to beat Erik at any weight, but anybody who thinks that Erik wouldn't give him fits (or that he'd be stopped by Mayweather) is flat out insane.

Morales resume is underrated in general. He beat a lot of good, top fighters.

As for the fight, I'd pick Mayweather by a one sided decision.
