As for the accident, I regard anyone who rides around on a motor bike as a kind of lunatic. Many ears ago friend drove up on a bike in front of a house I was visiting, and looked around behind him. He was looking for his pillion passenger, who was later found stone dead about 20 miles back. He'd bounced off when they went over a hump-backed bridge. They'd both worn helmets.

Consequently I've never allowed any of my family to have a motor-bike, nor even ride on one. A cardinal rule in my home.
Spot on. I don't know why anyone would choose to do ride motorcycles at all. At least in cars, you have the safety option of seat belts. It's one thing to ride a bike, but to drive it at 60-70 MPH with no safety feature is downright absurd.

Anyone know if he's paralyzed from the waist down or is his whole body paralyzed?

He should've never been on a bike in the first place. Athletes have some of the worst judgement. If I was a promoter I would do the same thing a lot of companies do with their employees. I would put a clause in their contract that they can't do any dangerous activities while they're under contract.

No way would I put myself in the same position he put himself when the biggest fight of his career, first major PPV, and biggest payday of his life was a few months away.

I hope he recovers and it able to walk on his own again without any assist. Praying for him.
Another good post. Even you have knee guards, elbow pads, and an helmet to protect your head, knees, and elbows, There is still way too much risk involved to be putting your life on the line like that.

            Sad

This is a sad day for him, his family and boxing. Motorcycles are risky, but those who ride take the risk willingly. Hope he had some professional insurance and that he had madewise choices with the money.

I ride and count my blessings everyday that something like this doesn't happen to me. Anyone know what bike he was riding?

That's really sad to hear. He still had one hell of a career in front of him. Motorcycles are bad news and people know this, but continue to ride them.
