Alvarez' power is overrated and William's chin is still good. Even though he was rocked by Lara's left hand, he was never wobbled. And those were the same lefts that knocked out Hearns in the first round. If Alvarez wins, it'll be by decision.

It's also easy when your opponent gives so much opportunity and has a poor defence, like Williams.

I like Alvarez and his fights are entertaining but you just never know. People give the kid a hard time, but not many people have fought an (albeit past their best) hall of famer and a ****er like williams by the time they're 22.
His appeal and marketability almost work against him in some ways, as he has big-money backers who are trying to sculpt a good career and maximise profits... Which gets him nothing but hate from 50% of people on here. But i'm sure he just probably wants to fight, he's always calling out the big names.

I agree with everyone's problem that he's been gifted the belt and not been forced to fight anyone decent in a few years to defend it... but money talks in boxing i guess. I don't really think he deserves all of his criticism, as much of it is other people not wanting to throw him in at the deep end and lose their investment.

        Can't wait for the fight.
Good respectable post. That's where the problem lies. World champions don't step up in comp, they're already there.

You'd have a point if Canelo's defense was any better.

It's real easy to sit there and say that as well though isn't it?

He was what? 19 when he fought Jose Miguel Cotto?
And twenty when he fought Hatton.

What had you or I acheived by 20?

.........what is Canelo getting exposed as?

he's a 21 year old kid that's fighting better and better opposition. He didn't have amature career and I haven't really heard any say he's a top P4P or even the top guy @ 154. Apart from the belt he had gifted there really isn't much else to hate.

Exposed is someone like Kirkland, that was hyped up to be the next Mike Tyson
then got sparked out in 1 round by a feather fisted Japanese journeyman, and got humiliated a couple fights later for a second time.

                I agree totally.

I think it's more a problem with boxing in general than with Saul, which is really sad.

I don't know, it's pretty savage to watch at times. You can almost feel the punches when he lands.

canelo has fought no one CLOSE to angulo & molina...........

he's fought sloppy bums, or past it shot to **** fighters.........

he's proved little to nothing @ this point.

he could fight lara (the guy who BEAT williams) but instead he chooses williams (the loser) he could have fought molina (the guy who schooled cintron) but instead he fought the ****ing LOSER.

canelo has been fighting this way for the past 5 years..........

if thats not a JOKE i don't know what is.
