if mexico, GBP, and HBO can shut the **** up about his red hair and "he's only 21" then i'd probably be a fan. can't stand the over-sensationalizing going on with him... he's just an average fighter to me.

It doesn't matter. Paul Williams gets hit so much that my head starts hurting when I watch him fight. The guy has zero defence and Canelo is going to hit him a lot, and when he hits him, he's going to jump on him and put his punches together which is something that Lara didn't do. I think he's also a physically stronger guy than Lara. Williams just isn't smart enough to beat him. He only has one style and doesn't know how to do anything else. He's not going to be able to overcome a younger, physically stronger, faster, better co-ordinated, smarter and more versatile boxer like Canelo, who has also taken much less punishment than him. If Paul was a guy who had good defence and knew how to fight smart in addition to his current attributes, then I would give him the edge due to his size but he doesn't have those things which is why he's going to take a brutal beating come September. Like him or not, Canelo is just a better boxer.

Canelo isn't a defensive master himself. He hasn't proven a thing against any fighter of note. He also isn't faster than the Punisher. Matter of fact he's slower than dirt. He's 5-9 at best, short reach, no head movement, & has $h!tty stamina. He won't know what to do against the Punisher.

Good man. I knew Froch was stopping Bute. I thought he'd have to come from behind to do it though.

And if Alvarez actually beats Williams, people will just say Williams was done.

The difference is that with Alvarez, people know he has potential but that he needs to prove it against top tier fighters first, which means Williams is a good start and good fight. With Bute, people were actually saying Ward "ducked" him, even though Bute had never had a real good or big win. And people were actually thinking Bute would whoop Froch and had a good shot to beat Ward.
