were you watching boxing when miguel cotto was in his prime?

not trying to dig, but asking an honest question

there really isnt any comparing the two fighters.

and margarito 2 is not his second best win.

4 titles in 3 weight classes.

Wins over Carlos Maussa, DeMarcus Corley (Top 10 JWW), Ricardo Torres, Paulie Malignaggi, Carlos Quintana (Top 10 WW), Oktay Urkal (Top 10 WW), Zab Judah (Top 10 WW), Shane Mosley (#3 WW), Joshua Clottey (Top 10 WW), Yuri Foreman (WBA SWW champ/Top 10 WW), and Antonio Margarito.

I think the 3 weight classes thing helps Cotto to get in. But Froch should get in especially if he avenged his Kessler loss.
Three vacant Titles..Not one Champion connected with his belts..Manufactured if I've ever seen it...

Yuri Foreman was actually a champ. Froch's first two titles were vacant as well.

          2 out of 3 of Froch's Title's were vacant.

But, it seems people are beginning to discredit the wins over Taylor and Abraham now.

Yet, he was the underdog in both fights and a large majority of writers and fans were picking him to lose both of those fights.

          Same with Bute.

So if you fight all the top names, you are a hall of famer now?

He officially has an L to the best two guys he fought. The Kessler one you could argue a draw. The Ward one was a complete shutout. He also clearly lost to Dirrell. His best wins are Pascal, Abraham, Taylor and Bute. Taylor was beating him until a miracle comeback. Abraham is a middleweight. And the Pascal fight could have been argued a draw as well. If that's a hall of fame resume, or if we're going to put guys in just for FIGHTING not BEATING the best, then by God we better add Glen Johnson to the Hall of Fame! Oh wait, Froch beat him too! That makes Froch one of only 654 men to defeat Glen Johnson.

Froch has a better resume than Cotto whatever way you slice it.

                I don't see how.

They are clearly comparable in terms of greatness.

Froch may even have the better resume, you could argue.

There is no denying that even right now Mosley is Cotto's best win...Outside of that his best fight at 140lb would have to be Quintana, bro this is not saying much..His best win was a fighter out of his prime..Froch has Pascal(who moved on to become the LHW Champion)Dirrell young and talented out the azz..Bute undefeated and to most people a true threat at the weight...AA young and tough..Not to mention Froch won every belt off of a Champion, none of that vacancy mess...

Again, 2 out of 3 of the titles he won were vacant.
