Been thinking the thing for past 2-3 years, you've either got to be black or white to get some respect from british fans.
As for froch, fantastic performance. If the rematch with ward takes place i'll bet all my points as well as cash that he gets dominated, wards a different kind of beast.

They were chanting 'who are ya', but I thought it was for Kessler. Disappointing to hear it was for Khan (if accurate).

still baffled as to why people thought Bute was going to STOP Froch, one of the toughest fighters P4P. I really thought Froch was going to stop Bute. I hope Bute bounces back from this but this is brutal..

Khan and Froch alright now then?

Khan called it right, Bute got demolished in there with a world class fighter.

Hamed was pre 9/11 . Do you think him preaching so vigorously about Islam before and after fights would get him as much support in todays age? It can't be Khan's arrogance because Naseem was in a different stratosphere compared to him and this is coming from a Hamed fan.

Because every damn fighter that throws an uppercut gets overrated. Something about that punch makes people go crazy.

                    a) Would he do it in today's age? - probably not
                    b) Would it get him support anywhere in the Western world today? - probably not

Would Hamed still be popular today? I think so, if he left religion out of it like most fighters do. For example, lot of people dislike Ward for his SOG schtick. Sport and religion aren't the best mix generally, Islam post-9/11 would especially not go down well and I'm sure his PR team would be aware of that.

The Khan thing has been discussed on here before, he picked up a crappy rep with his 1 and 2 rounders against on ITV1. It got to the point where people felt they were being duped. I'm sure there are some racists too but generally speaking he's well supported and if the chants were aimed at him I'd suggest it's down to his prior issues with Froch rather than there being 10,000 racists in the stadium.

Hamed got a lot of hate too from the Brits, I saw a fight of his where the UK presenters themselves were hating on him for showboating on the guy he was dominating. But some of those people grew to admire Hamed, and a lot of it happened after he retired. Similar thing happened with Chris Eubank and so it might happen with Khan.
