Yes. He could have made it up but thought maybe it was best to take the count and say he was suckered. RJJ said once a guy quits, it's always in his mind. Did it before, did it then, did it after.

Yea, he quit. Ortiz's peformance against Floyd is unforgivable. First off, he actually tries to box with Floyd. Utterly insane, he needed to get close and trade punches.

Yea, he quit. He saw a way out and took it.

He dosen't seem to have the instinct to go on fighting whatever happens. He showed it against Maidana and against Floyd. When something unexpected happens and you have no time to think you just act on instinct and his instinct wasen't to leave everything in the ring.

I don't think it's something you can learn it's just fight or flight response. Guys like Margarito (even though he is a cheater) keeps fighting no matter what and some guys, like Ortiz take the easy way out. It's just who the are deep down.

Ortiz was looking for a way out,,,,
If he had continued,, floyd would have stopped him in 8 or 9 rounds,,,

Floyd couldnt miss the guy, it was like ortiz was blocking punches with his face,,,

I don't think the action of him not getting up means he quit. I think Mayweather rocked him pretty bad.

If I'm gonna say that Ortiz quit, it would be based on the action of him headbutting Mayweather. That could've been his way out of the fight.

You never know with Ortiz, the guy isn't playing with a full deck.

Even though I don't think he was doing really badly in the fight. I do think he somewhat "quit". He was losing but he also was getting in some shots. He seemed very chagrined by the headbutt and then maybe he chastised himself too much afterward. He left himself wide open. Floyd's first left was not a big KO punch and Ortiz still had a little time to put up his guard, but he didn't and allowed Floyd to land a bigger punch.

It didn't seem big enough to put him completely out. I think he quit in some kind of self-punishing way but as other posters have also said, he has quit before so he is no stranger to it.
