I don't know about "QUITTING" but I think he was getting Frustrated because despite the Flurries and the cheering from the Crowd, he really wasn't landing anything damaging to Mayweather and Mayweather was laughing at him and Ortiz lost it

So no I don't think he quit, but I think he found out the hard why how hard it is the hit Mayweather clean and I think Mayweather was about to Pick Ortiz apart and Ortiz eyes was starting to swell

I like Ortiz...he is a little Weird but he has some talent and he has some Power, I think 154-160 is probably the Division he SHOULD BE IN though, I would love to see Ortiz in the mix in that 154 Division and build up maybe a big time showdown with Canelo one day

Im sorry Floyd whacked him pretty good but he couldve got his ass up and fought on. Period.

That punch crushed his spirit more than anything. I know they hurt the worst when you dont see em coming but cmon Victor.

He quit imo. He most likely wouldnt finished the round anyway but he couldve got up imo.
In short, yes he did. Losing your cool in the ring and headbutting out of anger and frustration, when of all the fights in your career you are in the biggest and hardest, is basically quitting.

It was a great punch, but I just didn't see the characteristics of a 1 punch KO kind of punch.

Leading me to believe either A) Victor was in shock with the gravity of the situation and blanked out. B) Victor quit.

Only Ortiz knows for sure but I think the same thing.

I agree he was hurt far worst in the Berto knock down. It was an easy way out he knew he was suckered punch and would blame floyd for the bout's bizzare ending, take 5 million home and his stock dosn't drop because he's basically stating he lost because of a sucker punch

I consider the last headbutt he threw to be quitting. Same as Tyson biting Evander. You can't win doing something ridiculous like that so doing it is equivalent to quitting and just getting in one last F you.

Good point. It was a lunging headbutt.
