John Duddy vs Andre Ward Who Wins?

Duddy the hard puncher and Ward with the good boxing skills. If they fought today who would win?

these are two of the boxers i have been talking about for a while.

There is no doubt the ward is the better boxer. But duddy is a viscious animal when it comes to body shots, very mickey ward esq. If duddy were able to connect flush, there is no doubt he would win. But that in its self lies the problem. For duddy to work the body he must sacrifice his head. By sacrificing his head, he is open to get hit. And not just hit once, but multiple times by wards overwhemling speed. Not to mention that if he wants to make it into a war, duddy needs to learn some defense. So all in all, i say Andre ward would eck this out.

Ward against dirrell would be exciting, not as much as dirrell vs duddy

Don't expect much from Duddy. He is an exciting fighter, but I see nothing but a Gatti-esque type of career.

He's showing good overall punching but against lower level guys. If he develops a jab He MIGHT be a top MW but I just don't see it.

Ward has shown to be vulnerable early on. Duddy is supposed to be (I haven't seen him) a big puncher.
Duddy has to be better than the stiffs Ward has faced...so he obviously is capable of KOing Ward. Problem is, Ward is 100x better than the stiffs that Duddy has been steamrolling. Let's see how Duddy reacts when he doesn't have a punchless & stationary target in front of him.

This would be a complete mismatch. Duddy has already had 14+ fights and Ward has had 4 (?) and almost been KOed in 2 of them. This would remind me of Green - Codrington because Codrington imo was going to be the better boxer in the long run but was just WAY to green to take on someone like Green. Duddy takes advantage of Ward's inexperience and KO's him or TKO's him in my opinion.

Lower level guys??? haha, let me explain somethin, when you start out, you have to fight mediocore opposition, do you expect him to fight Winky Wright after his 12 professional bout??

Here the point though - Duddy's opponets winning percentage is 72%, that is not too common for a building fighter. Duddy's opponets have also been pretty dangerous, his opponets have KO'd 43% of their opponets and he stays active, Duddy is fighting again on Dec 15

Also he has fought a tough veteren/former champ in Pat Coleman, a tough veteren/former canadian champ Byron Mackie, and an undefeated prospect who was undefeated at the time (16-0)and is trained by Kevin Rooney Lenord Pierre. Also these fights ended with a KO. Duddy also has Yori Boy Campas in his sights for St Patricks Day. I believe the sky is the limit for Duddy at Middleweight if he stays on course, in this wide open division.

To go back to to the Ward question right now Duddy Ko's him brutaly in the mid rds. Ward's boxing will be able to Duddy away for half the fight and maybe even give him a rd or 2, but Duddy will slow him down with body shots and eventually send Wards head into the front row/ringside crowd.

And sorry for the rant, and as u can see I can be a bit biased

Yes you are biased but I'll give you that.

Duddy has no ****ing jab. He's fighting stationary guys who have been payed peanuts to be the "gatekeepers" of the division.

In other words, there the guys who get payed to get knocked out to hype up a rising prospect.
