Froch on why he's NOT a Ali fan

smh...smh
back to the program...Ali's legs were his bread and butter...we all know legs are not forever in athletics...so Ali had to improvise and laying on the ropes became just that...so IF Froch holds that against Ali...more power to him, its HIS opinion anyways, just found it weird when he bought up his style....the Smokin' Joe bashing probably went over board, depends on who you hear it from....Ali bashed EVERYBODY he fought....he probably felt most threatened by Joe so he gave him a lil more than others...big deal, they were RIVALS...lets hate Kevin McHale for tackling Kurt Rambis or Alonzo Mourning for having Jeff Van Gundy grab his leg....RIVALS are RIVALS for a reason...its never pretty!!There are those who will consider it their duty, as friends of the Negro people, to tell us to revile him, to flee, even from the presence of his memory, to save ourselves by writing him out of the history of our turbulent times.
Many will ask what Harlem finds to honor in this stormy, controversial and bold young captain—and we will smile. Many will say turn away—away from this man; for he is not a man but a demon, a monster, a subverter and an enemy of the black man—and we will smile. They will say that he is of hate—a fanatic, a racist—who can only bring evil to the cause for which you struggle! And we will answer and say to them:
Did you ever talk to Brother Malcolm? Did you ever touch him or have him smile at you? Did you ever really listen to him? Did he ever do a mean thing? Was he ever himself associated with violence or any public disturbance? For if you did, you would know him. And if you knew him, you would know why we must honor him - Ossie Davis
I think his disrespct for the medal and certain things had to do with certain events at a certain time in history....I didn't experience what those who lived at that time experienced...so just like me not rating Ray Robinson as the GOAT because all-time defines my time in my eyes and Roy is the GOAT...so with that same frame of thought I can't say if Ali was right or wrong about his feelings toward the country and its Jim Crowe policy at the time....this is a sensitive issue on the real....Ali was more than a fighter in the eyes of MANY!!...just sayin!!Comment

Why SMH? Malcom X was racist as fuck. It's like some black people don't like to admit when another black person is racist.smh...smh

Absolutely, Froch is a tough guy whose heart, will, and granite chin, make up for his lack of speed and foot movement. I think a great fight for the ages would have been Froch vs Tavoris Cloud, guaranteed KO, not alot of movement and punches u can see coming a mile away.Comment

People change. As a young man Ali was naive and brash making rash statements. As he matured and wizened he learned from his mistakes and changed his way. Maybe its just me but I judge a man on his entire life, not just the portion I disagree with.Comment

Malcolm meant a lot to the Black Community. In the end, he realized, just as Ali did, that the Nation of Islam is full of s**t. After Malcolm traveled to Mecca and saw ******s of all races, ethnicities, and backrounds, he changed. He also realized Elijah Muhammad was a phony and a fake, denounced the Nation, talked up White Americans helping his new cause, and was murdered in the process. Malcolm X means a lot to people in the Black Community man. Read the Autobiography of Malcolm X and understand where the brother was coming from.Comment
