Not similar examples at all. The reason Lamont passed the first test was he wasn't tested under the same tests. I think the first time he was tested WADA and then the second test, the more strict test VADA caught him.

In Bertos case he was tested under the same company(or whatever you want to call them). He passed that test so it is pretty obvious with the small traces that it certainly would of been through contamination. This actually happens a lot of time in drug testing, that's why when testing positive it isn't black and white. Something like certain shampoos absorbed in the skin can cause a positive test.

IMO, when you weigh all the evidence it sounds like Berto is innocent. The fight should go on.

They probably knew about it but everyone is so quick to jump to conclusions and point fingers that they didn't release it till a few days later. People need to realize that drug testing on this level isn't an exact science. A lot of things trigger positive tests. Gotta wait till all the information comes out, even if the tests say positive.

This is EXACTLY what I'm thinking. Kinda strange how they publicly announced he tested positive, only to come back and announce it was just a contamination. Why not have this all cleared up before it became public? Surely sounds like an excuse to me, that's what I think at least.

Anyone else get a sabotagey vibe here?

Like someone sneaked it into his food something in order to get him caught? Team Ortiz looking for a way out? Conte trying to give him an unfair advantage without him knowing about it? Lol idk...

You guys who jump the gun need to learn about numbers and decimals. If the amount of nandrolone is so low as this article indicates then it's completely blown out of proportion.

I completely agree with ChickenTikka. Efficient random drug testing should be mandatory in every sport but these agencies need to communicate more professionally with the comissions and media before making results public.

This is nothing like Balco or the ladies German swimming team during the cold war.

I don't think CSAC would approve a license for Berto knowing there are still trace elements of a known banned substance

do I believe Berto to be unknowing about this? yes it's too small of an amount to say he was using this to enhance his performance

but it's still there and he should not be allowed to fight June 23rd because of it

CSAC probably will have a hearing about it, choose not to ban Berto because of the miniscule amount, but not allow Berto to be licensed until the substance is out of his system

I think not!!

Makes no sense if the traces found is to small to even give berto any advantages then why not let him fight since the traces found was so little It won't help berto? I am not by any mean is backing berto up, as I feel u're responsible for what u take. But I just hate hearing excuses to cover these positive results.

i dont believe this "contamination" excuse. EVERY single athlete that fails the test has an excuse. if you listen to them nobody is cheating.
